How to get your business listed on Quora

Quora has no company directory, so the real job is a named profile, a Space and answers people quote. Here are the steps, the rules and the realistic timeline.

Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 19 October 2026

Short answer: Quora does not have a company directory. You cannot create a listing page for your business the way you can on a software review site. What you can do is register a personal account under your real name, put your role and company in your credential line, create a Quora Space for your company, and answer questions where you have first hand knowledge. A separate business account at business.quora.com exists for advertising. Setup takes under an hour. Being quoted by anyone, human or machine, takes months of answers.

This page is published by AI Knows Us, a product that measures how businesses appear in AI assistant answers. We explain Quora here because the same readers who ask us about AI answers also ask where Quora fits. Nothing on this page is a Quora product or an endorsement by Quora.

Why people care about Quora in the first place

A buyer types a question into an assistant. Something like "what payroll software works for a 20 person team in India". The assistant writes a paragraph. Somewhere under that paragraph sit a few links. The buyer never opens a search results page.

Quora is built out of exactly that shape: a question in plain words, followed by answers in plain words. That is why marketers keep asking how to get on it. The page format matches the question format.

Be careful with the next step of that logic, though. "Quora matches the shape of a buying question" is not the same as "Quora will be cited for your question today". Citation depends on the assistant, the wording of the question, and whether that assistant's crawler can read the page at all. Those three things change without notice.

What Quora actually offers a business

There are three separate things, and people confuse them constantly. Here is the split.

SurfaceWho creates itCost to createWhat the public sees
Personal profileAn individual, under their real nameFreeName, photo, credentials, answers, follower count
SpaceAny logged in accountFreeSpace name, description, posts, contributors, followers
Business account for adsAn advertiser at business.quora.comFree to open; ad spend is separateAds only. It is not a public company page

So there is no "claim your business" button. If a vendor tells you they can get you a verified Quora company listing, ask them to show you the page type.

What Quora requires before you post

These are Quora's own published rules. Read them on Quora, not in a summary, before you write anything on behalf of a company.

Three rules decide whether your effort survives.

  1. Real names. Profiles are for people. A profile named after a company, with a logo as the photo, is the single most common reason a marketing account gets reported.
  2. Disclosure. If you work for the company you are recommending, say so in the answer itself, not only in your bio.
  3. Relevance over volume. Dropping the same link under thirty questions is treated as spam. Answering six questions properly is not.

The steps, in order

  1. Open quora.com and create an account using the real name of a real person at your company. A founder or a support lead works well. A "marketing" mailbox does not.
  2. Set the profile photo to a photo of that person's face.
  3. Write the main credential line. Format: role, then company, then year started. Example: "Co-founder at Example Payroll, since 2021".
  4. Write the profile description in three or four sentences. Say what the company does, who it is for, and what you personally handle. No slogans.
  5. Add topic credentials for the two or three subjects you can actually answer. Quora shows the matching credential next to each answer, which is why this step matters more than the bio.
  6. Answer five questions before you mention your product anywhere. This builds a profile that does not read as an advertisement.
  7. Create a Space for the company. Give it a plain descriptive name, a one paragraph description, and a link to your site in the description.
  8. Post to the Space on a schedule you can hold. Once a week beats a burst of twenty posts and then silence.
  9. If you want ads, open a separate account at business.quora.com. Keep it separate from the personal profile.

How long it takes

The timings below are the time the tasks take, counted from the step list above. They are not a measured sample of outcomes, and they are not a promise about traffic.

StageRealistic effort
Account, photo, credentials, description20 to 40 minutes, once
Creating a SpaceUnder 10 minutes
One good answer with numbers in it30 to 60 minutes each
Enough answers to look like a real contributorRoughly 6 to 10 answers, so 2 to 3 months at one a week
Being quoted by an assistantUnknown and not controllable. Measure it, do not assume it

What to put in an answer so it gets quoted

Assistants and humans reward the same thing on Quora: a direct answer with checkable detail. Copy this pattern.

  • First two lines carry the answer. No build up. If the question is "does X integrate with Y", line one says yes or no.
  • Disclose in line three. "I work at Example Payroll, so treat this as a biased source on our own product."
  • One number per paragraph. A count, a price with the tax treatment stated, a date, a version number. Vague adjectives get skipped.
  • Name the alternatives fairly. An answer that lists three competitors honestly is quoted far more often than an answer that lists one option.
  • Date your claims. "As of October 2026" lets a reader, and a model, judge how stale it is.
  • Edit old answers instead of posting new ones. An answer that has accumulated views keeps its position when you update it.

Worked example you can repeat

This is an invented example written to show the format. The company does not exist.

Question: What payroll tools handle Indian PF and ESI filings for a team under 25 people?

Answer: Four tools do this today. Three file PF and ESI returns directly, one exports a challan file you upload yourself.

Disclosure: I co-founded one of them, Example Payroll, so weigh my view accordingly.

Pricing as of 1 October 2026, per month, GST extra: Example Payroll charges a base fee plus a per employee fee. The other three publish their pricing on their own sites, linked below, and I have not re-checked those numbers since 1 October 2026.

What decides it for a team of 25: whether you want the tool to file on your behalf or just to produce the file. Direct filing costs more and removes a step. Export only is cheaper and keeps your CA in the loop.

Notice what that answer does. It answers in line one. It discloses. It gives a date and says GST is extra. It names rivals and links to their own pages rather than describing their prices second hand. That is the structure worth repeating.

The same approach works on review directories. See /blog/how-to-get-your-business-listed-on-g2 and /blog/how-to-get-your-business-listed-on-getapp for the listing process on those two.

Where AI Knows Us fits

Posting on Quora is a guess until you check whether anything changed in the answers your buyers actually see. That checking is what AI Knows Us does.

It measures across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, because five apps answer the same question differently on the same day from different sources. Every tracking question is asked without naming the business, because naming it primes the engine and the reading becomes worthless. Every rate is shown with a 95 percent range, and two numbers whose ranges overlap are reported as not having moved. It also does the fixing, not only the measuring: 13 agents handle intake, discovery, analysis, diagnosis, planning, writing, editing, publishing, scouting, outreach, experiments, lifecycle and the copilot. The product is made by Clyra Labs in India.

On pricing: paid plans are not open yet. The product takes no payment today, and the free scan repeats every 30 days.

Who should not choose AI Knows Us

  • You want someone to write and post Quora answers under a personal name on your behalf. That is a human job and it should stay with a named employee.
  • You need a . Nobody can sell that honestly.
  • You only care about classic search rankings. A keyword rank tracker is the right tool for that, not this one.
  • You need a signed enterprise contract and an invoice today. Paid plans are not open yet.

FAQs

Can I create a Quora page for my company?

Not as a profile. Quora profiles are for individual people under their real names. The closest thing to a company page is a Space, which any logged in account can create for free. A business account at business.quora.com is for running ads and is not a public company page.

Will a Quora answer get cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity?

Maybe, and nobody can promise it. Whether an assistant can cite Quora depends on that assistant's crawler access, any licensing arrangement, and the specific question. The only honest approach is to publish, then measure whether anything changed in the answers your buyers see.

Is it against the rules to mention my own product?

No, as long as you disclose that you work there and the answer is genuinely relevant to the question. What breaks the rules is posting the same promotional link across many questions. Read Quora's Help Center for the current business, promotion and spam rules before you post.

How many answers do I need before it is worth anything?

Plan for roughly six to ten substantial answers before your profile reads as a real contributor rather than an ad. At one answer a week, that is two to three months. Fewer, better answers beat a burst of short ones.

Does AI Knows Us post on Quora for me?

No. Quora answers should come from a named person at your company. AI Knows Us writes and publishes pages on your own site, asks other sites to name the business, and measures how you appear across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews.

What does AI Knows Us cost?
