Choosing an SEO company in Ahmedabad: the domestic brief and the export brief

Two different jobs share one results page here, and splitting them is the decision that settles whether the money works.

Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 12 October 2026

In Ahmedabad the first thing to settle is which of two jobs you are buying. One is selling to buyers inside Gujarat and India, where Gujarati and Hindi search matter and the money is in local enquiries. The other is export lead generation, where your buyer sits in Germany, the Gulf or the United States, searches in English specification language, and judges you on certifications and response time. They need different writers, different pages and different measurement, and most unhappy engagements began with a supplier who sold one and was paid for the other.

This guide is for an Ahmedabad manufacturer, exporter or service business choosing a search supplier: how to split the job, what belongs in each brief, and how to verify a firm.

Decide which of the two jobs you are buying

Ahmedabad sits at the centre of one of India's most export heavy industrial regions. Textiles and garments, chemicals and dyes, pharmaceuticals and active ingredients, engineering, packaging, plastics and agro commodities, with the ceramics belt at Morbi and the textile and diamond trade at Surat within a few hours' drive. Cargo moves out through Mundra and Kandla. Alongside that sits a large domestic economy: real estate, hospitals, education, retail chains and professional services, plus the financial centre at GIFT City in Gandhinagar.

Plenty of businesses here need both. Buy them as two workstreams on two invoice lines, with their own pages and their own numbers. Running them as one blended retainer is how the export half quietly turns into blog posts.

The export brief, in detail

If your enquiries today come mostly from trade marketplaces, your own website is doing almost none of the selling, and that is the gap worth closing. A marketplace listing puts you beside forty competitors on price. Your own pages let you compete on specification and capacity.

  • One page per product and grade, not one per category. An importer searching for a specific grade, mesh size, denier or purity level should land on a page about exactly that, with a specification table on it.
  • Evidence, prominently. Certifications, product approvals for the destination market, test reports, plant photographs, machine list, monthly capacity, and the ports you ship from. This is what an overseas buyer actually reads.
  • Application pages. Buyers often search by the end use rather than the product name, and those pages bring in enquiries your product pages never see.
  • Country pages only where you have something real to say. Documentation you provide, standards you meet, incoterms you work on, shipments you have made there. Pages that differ only by country name are what Google's spam policies call scaled content abuse.
  • If you build other language versions, follow Google's guidance on localized versions so the right one gets served, and use human translation.
  • The enquiry path. An RFQ form asking for quantity, grade and destination, a published response time, and somebody rostered to answer European and American mornings.

The domestic side, where language is the advantage

Ahmedabad buyers search in English, Gujarati and Hindi, and often in Gujarati or Hindi words typed in English letters. Very few suppliers handle this properly, which makes it cheap ground. Ask to see live Gujarati pages a firm has written rather than a translation sample. If your customers walk in, the job also includes one Google Business Profile per outlet with its own hours, photographs and reviews, plus a page on your site for each that genuinely differs. Google's guidelines for representing your business set out what counts as a location.

The city is also not one market. Satellite, Prahlad Nagar, Maninagar, Bopal, Naroda and the industrial estates behave as separate places, and a local search resolves to a locality rather than the city.

Verify the firm in ten minutes

  • Company master data. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal shows the registered name, incorporation date, address and directors of any company or LLP.
  • GST registration. Ask for the GSTIN and check the legal name on it matches the entity on the proposal.
  • Udyam. Many genuine small agencies hold an Udyam registration as a micro or small enterprise, which confirms a registered business.
  • The office. Ask to visit, or for a video call from the desk where your work will be done, and ask to meet the person who will write your product pages.

Engagement shapes that suit a manufacturer

Buy a fixed scope diagnosis from a senior consultant first, then put that document out to two agencies for execution. You pay senior rates only for the thinking, and the audit becomes the scope that makes two quotes comparable. Turning a product range into proper pages is then a project with a page count, not an open ended retainer, and a small retainer afterwards covers new products, technical articles and link acquisition. If you already have a marketing person, senior advice by the day is often better value than outsourcing the function.

What goes in the contract, and what should end the conversation

Put six things in the document: the ninety day deliverable list with dates and owners, split between the two workstreams; the page count and who writes it, naming any subcontractor; the numbers to be reported, with today's baseline; your ownership of content and of the Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile logins; the notice period and handover list; and which costs are passed through.

Google's guidance on whether you need an SEO names the biggest warning sign plainly: "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a 'special relationship' with Google, or advertise a 'priority submit' to Google." Alongside that, in this market: a price quoted before anybody opened your website; a fixed number of blogs and directory submissions as the headline deliverable; export pages written by somebody who cannot name the standard your product is made to; reporting on phrases no importer would type; and work done inside the agency's own logins.

Judging enquiry quality, not traffic

For an exporter the number that matters is qualified RFQs, so grade them. Agree a scale with your sales team: a serious enquiry names a quantity, a grade and a destination. Count those monthly, next to organic clicks on your product pages from Search Console. On the domestic side, track calls and direction requests per Business Profile and enquiries from locality pages.

This page covers choosing and managing a search supplier in Ahmedabad for both domestic and export selling. For paid campaigns and marketplace advertising, brief those separately. Trade fair and distributor strategy belongs with your sales plan.

choosing an SEO company in Ahmedabad: what readers write in to ask

Should an exporter in Ahmedabad hire locally or abroad?

Hire for the capability you are short of. Local firms understand your industry, your factory and your language, and cost less for the volume of page work a catalogue build needs. What they are sometimes short of is a writer who can hold a technical conversation with a European buyer. A freelance technical editor working over the local team fixes that, and is usually the best value combination available.

Do I still need my trade marketplace listings?

Keep them while they produce enquiries, and treat your own site as the channel where you compete on specification instead of price. Exporters who build proper product pages commonly find the mix shifts over two to three quarters, and enquiries from their own site tend to be larger.

Is Gujarati content worth the effort?

For anything a consumer or a small local business buys, yes, and the competition for it is thin. For export selling, no. Put that budget into specification depth in English instead.

How long before an export programme produces enquiries?

Judge the diagnosis in month one. Product pages built properly on an established domain commonly start collecting impressions within a quarter, and enquiries follow as the pages mature. Judge the programme over two to three quarters against the RFQ count you recorded at the start.

What if the firm will not name its clients?

Accept the confidentiality and ask for substance instead: live pages they built, an anonymised case with real numbers, one reference call.

One more question worth asking

Ask what an overseas buyer sees when they put your product question to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude or Google's AI Overviews. Those five answer the same question differently, name different suppliers and cite different sources, and they share no common ranking, so a strong position in one tells you nothing about the others. Importers already use assistants to assemble a first list of suppliers from a country before sending a single email.

Be wary of anyone offering a promised place inside an AI answer, for the same reason you would refuse a ranking guarantee: those outputs belong to the companies running the models. Check your own position by asking a buyer's real question in two or three assistants, keeping your company name out of the prompt so the answer stays clean. AI Knows Us tracks those answers on a schedule.
