Alternatives to Scriptbee and Vryse: five of six Vryse namings arrived with a rival's own ranked list in the sources

One of these is a software platform and one sells the service. In 1,260 readings dated 16 October 2026 Scriptbee was named in 8 and Vryse in 6, and six of the eight readings carried Scriptbee's own ranked article as a source. Here is how to audit a shortlist you were handed.

Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 20 October 2026

Scriptbee is not an agency, and Vryse mostly arrived in our data attached to Scriptbee's own article. Across 1,260 readings dated 16 October 2026, Scriptbee was named in the prose of 8 and Vryse in 6. Six of the eight Scriptbee readings carried, in their own source list, a single article published on Scriptbee's own site which ranks five platforms and puts Scriptbee first and Vryse second. Five of the six Vryse readings carried that same article. So before you compare these two, it is worth knowing that one of them wrote the list the engine was reading.

What the readings actually show, reading by reading

Every one of the 14 readings that named either firm was a Gemini reading in the India set of 420. Laid out:

Nine readings in the full set cited that one article. In those nine the engine put Scriptbee in a bold five times and Vryse four times, which is the order the article itself uses. One reading bolded the pair together as a single item.

That is a mechanism rather than a verdict on either firm, and it is the most useful thing on this page. A vendor published a comparison of its own category, placed itself at the top of it, and the comparison became a source an assistant used when an Indian buyer asked a neighbouring question. The second name on that list travelled with it. Both firms may be excellent at the work. The point is that the ranking you were shown has an author with a position in it.

These two are different purchases, which the ranking obscures

Read on their own sites on 20 October 2026, under two user agents with identical responses:

  • Scriptbee describes itself as an AI sales intelligence platform with "AI co-workers" for revenue teams. Its home page headings cover attracting high intent leads, identifying visitor companies, enriching decision maker contacts, automated outreach and signal scoring. AI search work sits inside that as one function. Its own machine readable file at the llms.txt path is hand written, opens with a one sentence description of the product, and runs to about 28KB. It states it serves B2B SaaS revenue teams.
  • Vryse describes itself in its page title as generative engine optimisation that scales revenue, carries a repeated "Catch us on Shark Tank India" banner, and states it has helped more than fifty brands. It sells both a dashboard, headed "Everything AI visibility, in one dashboard", and the optimisation service behind it. A fetch of its llms.txt path returned 404 on 20 October 2026, which is an ordinary state and is recorded with its date because files at that path appear and disappear.

So one is software a team operates, and one is a firm that will operate it for you and also sell you its own screen. Those have different contracts, different failure modes and different people to call. A list that ranks them in one column has flattened that, and the flattening is what reaches a buyer through an assistant.

One more detail worth knowing before you type a domain. Vryse trades on a .co. Fetched on 20 October 2026, vryse.com served a domain broker's listing page for the name rather than the firm, and that broker answered 403 to a Chrome user agent and 200 to a Safari one on the same day, so the 403 says nothing about the host and everything about how it was asked. Record the exact address you were served whenever you write a supplier into a brief.

How to audit any shortlist an assistant hands you

Four checks, about ten minutes for a list of five, and they work on our list as well as anybody's.

  • Ask the assistant for its sources and open them. A ranked list published by one of the ranked parties is a useful document and a partial one.
  • Find the author's own position in the ranking. First place in your own article is a sales decision, and reading it as one costs nothing.
  • Sort the list into purchases. Software, service, and software plus service are three columns. A single ordered list of five names usually contains at least two of them.
  • Check each name against its own site and write down what the firm says it is, with the date. The description a vendor gives itself is the one claim you can always verify.

Where the brief is specifically a measurement layer sold on to clients, the service shape, the protocol and the pricing question are worked through in AI visibility for agencies. Nothing on the site points at that page: 782 of the 1,583 pages we track carry no durable inbound link, and it is one of them.

What each of them publishes that we do not

A disclosure, placed here because the next paragraph argues for checking who wrote a ranking: we sell an AI visibility subscription, so a reader choosing a measurement platform is choosing between us and the first firm on this page, and our own rankings are written by us for exactly the reason this page describes. Our result from the same 1,260 readings, on the same measures: AI Knows Us appeared inside a recommendation bold zero times, and in the separate source count our domain appeared in 6 readings, all 6 on ChatGPT, with none of the 630 Gemini readings anywhere.

On being read in India, both firms are ahead of us, and the counts above say so plainly. Scriptbee also sells things we do not sell at all: visitor identification, contact enrichment and outbound automation are a sales stack, and an AI visibility subscription is not one. Vryse staffs people in India who will do the optimisation work on your site, and we publish pages rather than doing a client's engineering. What we publish that is ours is the method behind a number: the question bank, the engines each reading used, the raw exports, the dates, and the readings where our own name did not appear.

Questions about Scriptbee, Vryse and the alternatives to them

Is Scriptbee an AI visibility tool or a sales tool?

Its own site calls it an AI sales intelligence platform and lists AI search work as one of six functions beside visitor identification, enrichment and outbound. If your brief is only the measurement, you are buying one sixth of the product and should price it that way.

Should the ranked article count against Scriptbee?

Publishing a comparison of your own category is ordinary and often useful, and the article names its competitors and describes them. The thing to carry forward is that its order was written by a participant, so read it beside a list written by somebody with nothing in the race.

Why did both names only appear on one engine?

Our run reads two engines and all 14 of these namings came from the 630 Gemini readings, with none from the 630 on ChatGPT. Ask any supplier which engines it reads and reports on, named one by one, because a report covering one assistant describes one assistant.

What do I ask a firm that sells both the dashboard and the service?

Ask who signs off the monthly numbers and whether you can export the raw answer log. When the same supplier measures the work and does the work, the export is what keeps the two separable.

Does a missing llms.txt matter when I am choosing?

On its own, little. It is a short public index written for machines, it is cheap to publish, and plenty of well read sites serve none. Treat it as a dated observation about housekeeping rather than a score, and check the sitemap and the service pages instead.

The question to put to whoever hands you a list of five

Ask them who wrote it. On this vein of our data, the answer for a majority of the readings was one of the five names on the list, and the firm that came second on its rival's page arrived in our measurement almost entirely in its company. A shortlist is a document with an author, so find the author first, and the five names stop being a ranking and start being five firms you can ask the same four questions.
