Best content marketing examples, and the practice each one proves

Six kinds of asset that keep earning, each one read on a live page on 21 October 2026, with the practice behind it and how to build your own version.

Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 21 October 2026

The content marketing worth copying is rarely a campaign. It is an asset that answers a question a buyer has to settle before they can buy, published where they will find it, and left up for years. Below are six kinds of asset that do that, each read on a live page on 21 October 2026, with the practice each one proves and the version of it you could build this quarter. Read the practice rather than the execution, because the practice transfers and the execution belonged to that company.

One, the published limit

Brevo's pricing page states that its free plan sends up to 300 emails a day and that its Starter plan begins at 5,000 emails a month. ActiveCampaign publishes a monthly send allowance beside each tier, so at 1,000 contacts a buyer reads 10,000 sends with one user seat, 12,000 with three, and 15,000 with five.

The practice. Publish the number a buyer needs to decide, not the adjective. A page carrying a real limit gets quoted by everyone comparing the category, including the people writing the comparison articles that rank above you. The version you can build is one page per plan limit that a prospect asks about on every sales call.

Two, the arithmetic a buyer can run themselves

Ahrefs Brand Radar publishes the working rather than a feature claim: each prompt is checked daily on every selected platform, 5 prompts on 1 platform comes to 150 checks a month, and a Claude check consumes 8 of them.

The practice. Give the formula and one worked case, so a reader can compute their own situation without contacting you. Showing the arithmetic reads as confidence in the pricing, and it survives being summarised, which matters when something else is doing the summarising.

Three, the awkward question answered on your own page

Sitecore's content hub URL now renders a digital asset management page, and the site answers the obvious question on its own FAQ: whether SitecoreAI DAM is the same as Sitecore Content Hub, with the answer that it is the asset management capability within SitecoreAI and that many customers know it by its earlier name.

The practice. Answer the question your buyers actually type, including the one your marketing team would rather not raise. Renames, discontinued products, price changes and migration worries are all searched heavily, and the company that answers them owns the answer. If you do not write it, a forum thread becomes the source.

Four, the operational number instead of the testimonial

Contently sizes its network on its own site at over 10,000 creators and 2,000 credentialed specialists, and its case study line claims 22 divisions at one bank scaling content with a single legal reviewer and a 15 percent higher finish rate.

The practice. One specific operational figure, with the unit it was measured in, does more than a page of praise. Note the shape of the claim: a count of divisions, a count of reviewers and a percentage change, each of which a buyer in a regulated industry can picture. Write the number your own operations produce, and say what it was counted over.

Five, the free tool that answers the question before the purchase

Surfer publishes a free AI visibility audit on its own site. Our own free scan runs on a domain without a card. Both are the same asset type: a tool that gives a result rather than a brochure.

The practice. A calculator, a checker or a template that produces something the reader keeps. It earns links from people who will never buy, which is what makes it compound. The cheap version is a spreadsheet template with the formula already in it.

Six, the research and the gap you publish about yourself

The strongest version of this asset is the one that reports a result that is not flattering. We publish ours: counting durable inbound links across 2,587 stored page bodies on 21 October 2026, 1,006 of our own 2,501 live pages had none, and the pages with the most demand behind them were among the least linked. We publish our method with it, and the claims on our proof page are generated from the raw export rather than typed, which is explained in a proof page that cannot drift. Research as the durable asset is also the model the trade bodies in this field run on, which we looked at in why the research is the asset and the events are the business.

The practice. Count something nobody else has counted, publish the method beside the number, and include the result that went against you. A reader who sees you report a bad number believes the good ones.

The practices, in the order they pay back

  1. Write for one decision. One page, one question a buyer has to settle. Pages that cover a theme get read by nobody in particular.
  2. Put the answer in the first paragraph. Everything that summarises your page, from a results snippet to an assistant, takes the top of it.
  3. Carry a checkable fact per claim. A number with its source and its date. This is the single habit that separates the examples above from everything around them.
  4. Date it and re-read it. A restated limit goes stale into a false claim. Put the date on the page and diary the re-read.
  5. Publish the unflattering result. It is the cheapest trust you will ever buy.
  6. Link your own pages where the link is useful. On our own site, 40.2 percent of live pages had no durable inbound link when we measured, and the worst affected were the pages with the most demand behind them.

How these differ from campaign examples, and how to copy them

A campaign is built to be noticed in a window of weeks, and the famous ones are studied for their mechanism rather than their content. If that is what you came for, we have documented ten of them in marketing campaign examples and the mechanism behind each one. The assets above do the opposite job: they sit still and get found. Copy the shape, never the subject. Take the practice, apply it to a question your buyers ask that nobody in your market has answered properly, and publish that.

Questions about content marketing examples

What makes a content marketing example worth copying?

That you can name the practice behind it in one sentence and apply the practice to your own subject. If the only transferable part is the budget or the brand, it is a case study rather than an example.

Which of these asset types should a small team build first?

The published limit and the awkward question. Both come out of what your sales calls already repeat, both take a day, and both answer searches that are happening whether you publish or not.

How many of these do we need before it works?

Five to eight good ones per buyer question set does more than fifty thin pages. Depth per question is what gets a page quoted.

Do best practices in content marketing change every year?

The practices above have not. What changes is who reads the page first and how it gets summarised, which raises the value of a checkable fact and lowers the value of a clever headline.

Should examples be about our own work or other companies?

Your own, wherever you have the numbers, because you can show the method. Use outside examples to name the practice when your own version does not exist yet.

Who gets to quote your best asset

Every asset above was found by reading a company's own live page. That is also how the assistants in front of your buyers assemble an answer: they read what they can reach and name a handful of companies, and the pages that get used are the ones carrying a specific, dated, checkable fact rather than a claim about being a leader. Which makes the sixth practice the most valuable one on this list, and worth knowing about yourself. AI Knows Us reads which companies ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name for a set of buyer questions, and which pages each answer was built from, so you can see whether your best asset is the one being quoted. Where a rival beats us we say so: Profound publishes up to 9 answer engines tracked, with SSO, SAML and SOC 2 compliance, on tryprofound.com/pricing read on 21 October 2026, against our five surfaces and a pricing page that renders no SSO at all.
