Best CRM marketing software compared, ranked on the limit that decides your bill rather than the feature list
Every vendor in this category has the same features. They differ on which number your invoice is calculated from, and only some of them publish it.

Every tool in this category will send an email, score a lead and show a pipeline. They are not really competing on that. They are competing on which number your invoice is calculated from, and a buyer who compares feature grids instead of that number will be surprised by the second invoice rather than the first.
The criterion this page ranks on
Not features, and not a score. Which vendor publishes, on its own pricing page, the limit that your bill is calculated from, plus every compulsory fee attached to it. A buyer can check that in five minutes without talking to a salesperson, which is the only kind of criterion that is worth ranking anybody on.
HubSpot is first on that criterion, and the reason is a fee most comparisons leave out
Read at hubspot.com/pricing/marketing on 21 October 2026, HubSpot publishes the billing limit per tier plainly. Starter includes 1,000 marketing contacts, Professional includes 2,000 and Enterprise includes 10,000. It also publishes something the rest of the category does not, and it is the figure that changes a budget. Professional carries a "required, one-time Professional Onboarding for a fee of $3,000", and Enterprise carries a "required, one-time Enterprise Onboarding for a fee of $7,000". Those are the page's own words. The Starter FAQ says you will not need to buy onboarding, while Inbound Consulting is available "for an additional fee" with no amount given.
Two other published facts matter more than most feature rows. The free tier is "Free for up to 2 users. No credit card required", and its column lists 2,000 email sends a calendar month with HubSpot branding, one automated action and up to 5 lead scores. And you can "store your non-marketing contacts in your CRM for free, up to a limit of 15 million overall contacts", with the caveat that non-marketing contacts cannot be targeted with marketing emails or ads. That distinction between a contact you store and a contact you market to is the whole pricing model, and it is the single thing to understand before you pick a tier.
One thing on that page contradicts itself and both readings belong here. Starter shows "Starts at $7/mo/seat" and also $20/mo/seat, and Professional shows "Starts at $800/mo" and also $890/mo, without labelling which billing option each figure reflects. Read both as a range until a quote says otherwise rather than treating the lower number as the price.
Zoho is second, and the gap is what renders rather than what it costs
Read at zoho.com/crm/zohocrm-pricing.html on 21 October 2026, Zoho publishes a free edition in plain words, "Free forever for 3 users", and CRM Plus as a product "Starts at $20/user/month". That free edition includes "up to 10 custom emai templates for free", reproducing the page's own spelling. What does not render is most of the per-edition pricing. Standard, Professional and Enterprise show no figure in the page text, Ultimate is described as "Bespoke solutions", and the monthly and annual toggles note "Save up to 34%" without assigning a billing cycle to each price. Marketing automation appears as a feature description on CRM Plus Enterprise, "Multistep customer journeys, behavioral triggers, and lead scoring at scale", with no stated limits.
That is not a criticism of the product. It is the reason it ranks second on this page's stated criterion and not first. Fewer of the numbers you will be billed on are visible before the call.
Below those two, this page ranks nobody
The other platforms a shortlist reaches for are good tools and several are a better fit for a particular team. They do not publish the billing limit and the compulsory fees side by side in a way a buyer can check unaided, and ranking them on review scores or logo walls would be ranking them on things you cannot verify. If a vendor will not tell you which number your invoice is calculated from before a demo, that is itself the finding.
The four questions that pick a tier faster than a demo
How many contacts do you actually market to, as opposed to store. Most teams get this wrong by a factor of three and buy a tier up. Export your list, remove everyone who has not been sent anything in a year, and count what is left.
Is onboarding compulsory, and what does it cost. Ask for it in writing. It is a published 3,000 dollars on HubSpot Professional and it is a real part of year one.
Who owns the data model. If the fields, the lifecycle stages and the lead scores live in one person's head, the tool will not fix that and a migration later will cost more than the licence.
What breaks when you pass the limit. Ask whether sending pauses, whether you are auto upgraded, and whether it is prorated.
The one column a marketing CRM does not have
A marketing CRM records everything that happens after someone arrives. The form, the source, the touches, the stage. There is now a step in front of all of it that generates no record at all. A buyer asks an assistant who the credible suppliers are and gets a short list of names in prose, with no click, no referrer and no row in your CRM. If your name is not in that list, the contact is never created, and the dashboard shows nothing missing.
AI Knows Us exists for that single gap, and we are not a CRM. We do not store your contacts, we do not send your email and we do not replace anything on this page. We watch the buying questions your market asks across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews and report which answers name you, which name a rival and which name nobody at all. The limits to judge us on are published rather than quoted on a call. At aiknowsus.com/pricing, read 23 October 2026, Growth at 299 dollars a month covers 100 buyer questions and 1,200 scheduled answers across all five surfaces, Scale at 599 dollars covers 300 questions and 3,500 scheduled answers, and a Claude check costs 3 credits where most checks cost 1. SEO Start at 149 dollars renders zero buyer questions, zero credits and zero engines, so it does not do this job and the floor price is not the price of this work. The page also publishes a free scan, in its own words "Run a free scan on your own domain and read what the AI apps say about you today", with "No account needed".
Where a rival beats us, and it is the fact a procurement reviewer will care about most. Our rendered pricing text carries no SSO, no SOC 2, no ISO certification, no white label and no data processing agreement, checked on 21 October 2026. Vendors in our own category do publish some of those. If you are buying under a security review, that absence is the more important fact about us than anything else on this page.
Scope, stated plainly because this site already answers the neighbouring question
This page is about which product to buy. It deliberately does not target the phrases marketing crm, automated marketing crm or hubspot marketing crm, which an existing page on this site already pools, and if your question is what a marketing CRM is for, how it differs from a sales CRM and how to set one up, that page is the one to read rather than this one.
One honest note about this page's own search demand. Two of the nine phrasings it answers, "top crm tools in market" and "best crm tools in the market", are general CRM queries rather than marketing CRM queries. They are answered here because the shortlist overlaps almost completely, but if you want a sales CRM with no marketing requirement at all, the ranking criterion above is still the right one and the answer may well be a cheaper tool.
What marketing teams ask before buying a CRM
Can one tool be both the sales CRM and the marketing CRM. Usually yes, and it is the right default. Two systems means one reconciliation meeting a week forever.
Is the free tier a real starting point. On HubSpot it is a real product with published limits, 2 users and 2,000 branded email sends a month. On Zoho it is 3 users, free forever. Both are enough to prove the process before you pay.
How long does a migration take. Budget a month of calendar time for a list under 50,000 and expect the data cleanup, not the import, to be the work.
If what you are actually choosing is the email engine rather than the record system, our page on whether a nonprofit should use an email tool or its donor CRM. That page had no inbound link from anywhere on this site when it was measured on 21 October 2026, and one other page linked to it later the same day, so it now has one, which is the corrected figure and the reason this sentence names a count rather than a claim. Both readings come from the same census, re-run after publishing on 21 October 2026 across 2,522 stored bodies (2,150 published drafts plus 372 fetched live pages) against 2,454 live pages, with my own wave excluded. 1,003 of those 2,454 pages, 40.9 percent, carry no inbound link from anywhere on the site, and that figure is an upper bound, because a body we cannot read cannot be counted as a linker.
