Best GEO agency in the US: the named firms sell it as a line inside a bigger retainer, so price the line on its own
The American firms the assistants hand back are full service agencies where AI visibility is one module of a revenue platform or one of twenty services. That changes the question from which firm to hire into whether to buy this as a line item or as its own engagement.

In the United States the assistants do not hand back AI search specialists. Across 420 US readings dated 16 October 2026, 26 of them put WebFX or Percepture inside the bold these engines use to mark a recommendation, and both are full service agencies where generative engine optimisation is one service among many. WebFX sells AI visibility as something trackable inside its own revenue platform. Percepture sells it as one of around twenty services with its own published pricing page. Neither is an AI search shop, so the American buying decision is not which of two firms. It is whether you want this work as a line item inside a larger retainer, or scoped and priced as an engagement of its own.
Line item or its own engagement, and how the two behave differently
| A line inside a bigger retainer | Its own engagement | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | One account team across search, paid, content and AI visibility, one invoice | A defined scope with a start, a deliverable list and an end |
| How it is reported | Inside a monthly marketing report, usually a module of the agency's dashboard | As an artefact you receive and keep |
| What goes wrong | The line is never separately priced, so you cannot tell what it costs or whether to stop | Nobody owns the follow through after the report lands |
| The clause that fixes it | A separate price for the AI visibility scope, quoted even if you buy the bundle | A named owner and a re-run date in the same document |
Ask for the second quote even if you intend to buy the first. A supplier that can price the layer alone has scoped it. One that cannot has folded it into a retainer where neither of you will find it again. That is the same shape as any pair of adjacent purchases that look like one, worked through for a different pair in two different purchases hiding behind one phrase.

WebFX
Describes itself as a digital marketing agency that drives revenue and states 30 years of results. Its AI visibility offer is presented as client mentions in AI sources, counted and made trackable inside RevenueCloudFX, which it describes as a revenue platform integrated with your CRM. It serves an llms.txt at the root. The detail most worth copying is its sourcing habit: its headline rating claim names the two review marketplaces behind it and a count of third party reviews, so a reader can check the claim against somebody else's record. Attributing a superlative to a named external source with a count is unusual here and it is the right way to make one.
Percepture
Describes itself as a global digital marketing and PR agency with more than 20 years of work, and lists generative engine optimisation beside paid media, digital PR, enterprise search, content and public relations. It serves an llms.txt at the root. The detail worth copying is different: it publishes a pricing page for the GEO work specifically. We do not reproduce anybody's prices. What matters is that the figure exists in public with a scope attached, so your first conversation starts from a published band rather than from a discovery call.
An attributed rating and a published price are the two most checkable things a firm here can offer, and the two US firms the engines named have one each.
How often an American name came back, counted once per reading
The run is 420 United States readings dated 16 October 2026, 210 asked of ChatGPT and 210 of Gemini. Two engines, not the five surfaces this category normally sells, and the two are kept apart in every line below.
- WebFX appeared inside the recommendation bold in 18 of the 420 US readings.
- Percepture appeared inside it in 9 of the 420.
- At least one of the two appeared in 26 readings. 23 of those 26 were Gemini and 3 were ChatGPT.
Twenty six of 420 is the whole of this result. The US question is open, and a shortlist of two assembled from one assistant is a thin basis for a decision that will run for a year.
A separate count, over the same readings, of whose pages were used as sources
A different question with its own denominator. Nothing on this page adds the two counts, averages them, or reads one as a version of the other, because being read to build an answer and being named as the recommendation are different events.
In the source lists of those same 420 US readings, webfx.com appeared in 13 and percepture.com in 7. In the separate 597 reading run of 15 October 2026, webfx.com was the most cited host on one of the two engines, in 19 of that engine's 291 readings, and what a top figure of that size means for a buyer is set out in how to report a market with no leader.
The four things to put in the scope, whichever way you buy
- The question set. The exact American buyer questions to be tracked, with your brand name in none of them, delivered to you in writing in month one.
- The engines, enumerated. Named one by one, with the tier that includes each one. "All AI" is not an engine list.
- The repeat count. How many times each question is asked, and how far apart, because one reading of one question on one day is an anecdote.
- The raw answer log, and who keeps it. One row per answer, dated, with the engine, whether you were named and every domain cited. Settle ownership at the end of the contract before you sign the start of it.
Those four turn a dashboard module into something auditable. The ten line scorecard to mark a proposal against is in how to read the evidence a GEO agency shows you, and a dated survey of published offers with a calculator is in GEO agency pricing.
Where we sit in this, and where both firms beat us
We sell an AI visibility product, so we compete for part of the budget either firm would quote for, and that belongs in the same breath as anything we say about them. Our own numbers from the same run: in those 420 US readings our domain appeared in the source list of 1, that 1 on ChatGPT and none of the 210 on Gemini. The number of the 420 in which AI Knows Us appeared inside the recommendation bold is nil, and across all 1,260 readings of the run it is also nil. We have never been cited in a US Gemini reading in either of our two runs.
Both firms are ahead of us on things an American buyer may need more than measurement. They staff execution across paid media, content and PR, which we do not sell. WebFX connects marketing activity to a CRM and reports revenue against it, which is the report a US marketing team is usually asked for. Percepture runs public relations, and earned coverage on sources the engines read is one of the few levers outside your own site. We sell the measurement and the pages, which is a layer rather than a department, and our criterion is narrow: what a buyer can verify before paying, meaning the raw exports, the question bank, the engine list and our own failures, all published.
Questions about hiring a GEO agency in the US
Is a specialist better than a full service agency for this work?
It depends on where your problem is. If your pages and your published facts are wrong or thin, the work is writing and fixing, and a full service firm already does that. If you need a defensible monthly reading across named engines, that is a measurement product or a tightly scoped specialist engagement, and it is the part that gets lost inside a bundle.
What does a published price page tell me before the first call?
That somebody has decided what the work contains. A price with a scope beside it lets you check whether the deliverable list matches your problem before you spend an hour on a call, and it gives you a number to put next to a quote from somebody who publishes nothing.
How should I read an agency's "number one rated" claim?
Ask which programme or marketplace said so, in which year, and over how many reviews. A claim that names its source and its count is checkable in two minutes on somebody else's website. One that names neither is a design decision.
Why do the two engines behave so differently in this run?
They read different sources and compose answers differently, which is why you insist on the engine list inside the tier you are quoted. A supplier reading one engine reports one engine, whatever the invoice calls it.
What should month one produce?
The question set, the baseline reading with its date, and the raw log. A first month of strategy and no baseline leaves month six with nothing to compare against.
The one line to add to any American proposal
"Quote the AI visibility scope separately, even if we buy the bundle." Both firms named in this run sell this work inside something larger, and a separate price is how you keep the ability to stop, to move it, or to buy it elsewhere next year without unpicking a retainer. It costs an honest supplier nothing, and it is the shortest route to finding out whether the layer has really been scoped.
