Best way to buy Bing PPC services, and why the Google import button is most of the decision
Almost nobody sells Bing only management as a standalone retainer, and once you see what the work is you will not want to buy it that way either.
Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 22 October 2026
Buy Bing PPC as a named line inside your search retainer, or as a fixed scope setup of a few days, and not as a separate monthly management fee. The reason is the work itself. Microsoft Advertising publishes a built in import tool that pulls your Google Ads campaigns across, so the first eighty percent of a Bing account is a copy of something you already own. What is left is genuinely skilled and genuinely small: finding the settings that did not survive the import, re split budget for a smaller auction, and a monthly read that most reports leave out. A supplier charging a full second retainer for that is charging twice for one keyword list.
What the work actually consists of
| Job | What it involves | Shape of the work |
|---|---|---|
| The import | Connect the Google Ads account, choose campaigns, bring them over | Hours, once, then scheduled |
| The repair | Find what did not map across: audience types, extensions, newer campaign formats, tracking | The skilled part, and the part most suppliers skip |
| Budget re split | A smaller auction needs different daily budgets and often different match types, not a scaled copy | Days, then monthly |
| Divergence | Keeping the two accounts deliberately different where the audiences differ, instead of mirroring forever | Ongoing, small |
| Reporting | Separating Microsoft results from Google results in one view, so the channel can be judged | Monthly |
If a proposal describes only the first job, you are paying somebody to press a button. If it describes the second and third, you are buying something real.
What Microsoft publishes about it, read 21 October 2026
These are quotations from the Frequently Asked Questions for new Microsoft Advertisers page on about.ads.microsoft.com, which served an English United States version to this machine on 21 October 2026.
- Microsoft Advertising has a built-in Google import tool that connects to your Google Ads account.
- You choose which campaigns to bring over, review the settings, and import them directly into your Microsoft account.
- Most core settings come over, but some features don't map perfectly between platforms.
- Things like certain audience types, extensions, or beta features may need manual review or adjustments.
- Check your budgets, bids, locations, and tracking first, since those directly affect spend and performance.
- You only pay when someone clicks your ad, so your budget is tied to real interest, not just views.
- You can start with a small daily budget and scale up as you see results.
Two notes on what that page does and does not say. It states no minimum spend anywhere, and we looked for one: the words minimum fee and minimum spend do not appear on it. A figure quoted to you as Microsoft's published minimum is somebody else's number until you can see it on Microsoft's own page. Second, the import is described as something you review afterwards, in Microsoft's own words, which is the whole argument for buying the repair rather than the import.
Where the ads appear, which decides whether this is worth buying at all
On the Microsoft Advertising home page, read the same day, the placements named are Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo for search, with the line Expand horizons with our exclusive partnerships: Ecosia, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo, and beyond on the open web, and display and native inventory across MSN. The new advertiser page puts it more plainly: Your ads can show on Bing and other Microsoft-owned properties, as well as partner sites.
That is a real audience and it is not only Bing, which is the single most useful thing to understand before you price this. You are buying a search network with partner inventory, so the correct question for a supplier is which of those placements they will keep switched on and why, not what they think of Bing.
The four kinds of supplier who will answer this enquiry
- Your existing Google Ads supplier, adding a line. Nearly always the right answer. They already own the keyword list, the negatives and the tracking, and the import takes the account they built.
- A full search agency pitching a second retainer. Fair if the scope names the repair, the divergence plan and separate reporting. Not fair if it is the same deliverables list with the platform name swapped.
- A freelancer for a fixed setup. Often the cleanest purchase: a defined number of days to import, repair and hand back, with one follow up a month later.
- A reseller or white label desk behind another agency. Ask who holds the Microsoft account and who you can call. A reseller account you cannot log into is the one shape of this deal to refuse.
How to scope it so the invoice is checkable
Ask for the scope as deliverables rather than hours:
- The import run, with the list of campaigns brought across and the ones deliberately left behind.
- A written list of everything that did not map, which is the deliverable that proves somebody looked.
- Daily budgets set for this auction rather than copied, with the reasoning in one line each.
- Conversion tracking verified in the Microsoft account itself, not assumed from the Google tags.
- One monthly report that shows Microsoft separately from Google, in the same metrics, so you can decide in sixty days whether to keep going.
Judge the channel on your own numbers at the end of those sixty days. If you want a view of Bing results that does not come from the ad account at all, the three sources of that data are set out in Bing SERP reports. For what the platform covers before you buy help with it, there is Microsoft Advertising and Bing.
Questions about buying Bing PPC services
Is there a Bing PPC agency that only does Bing?
A few specialists exist, and they tend to be Microsoft Advertising partners who also run Google. Treat a supplier who claims Bing only expertise as a specialist in the repair work, and ask them to describe the last three things an import broke for a client. The answer is quick to judge.
What should Bing management cost compared with Google?
Price it as a share of the existing search scope rather than as a second account. The work is smaller because the keyword research, the negatives and the landing pages are already paid for. A supplier who prices it as a duplicate of the Google retainer is pricing the platform, not the job.
Can I just import and leave it?
You can, and many accounts do, which is exactly why cheap Bing performance is still available in some categories. Microsoft's own page tells you what that costs you: the audience types, extensions and tracking that did not map stay broken until somebody looks.
Does buying Microsoft Advertising put my brand inside Copilot answers?
Not from what Microsoft publishes on the pages we read on 21 October 2026. Copilot appears there as an ad creation assistant, in the line Copilot in the Microsoft Advertising Platform is your AI companion for creating high-quality marketing, and the placements named are Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, partner sites and MSN. Being named inside an assistant's answer is a different thing from buying inventory, and no auction sells it.
When can the channel be judged?
Sixty days of clean data, with conversions tracked in the Microsoft account and the report split by platform. Smaller volumes take longer to read, so resist judging a month that produced forty clicks.
The answer nobody is bidding on
Here is the part of this decision that an ad account cannot reach. The buyer who used to type a product into Bing increasingly asks an assistant instead, and the assistant answers from pages and profiles rather than from an auction. There is no bid, no match type and no daily budget for that surface, which is why the people who manage it well are often the last to notice when they stop being named in it.
The work AI Knows Us does is put your buyers' own questions to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, then show you the names that came back and the sources each answer was built from. We do not sell advertising and we do not manage Microsoft Advertising accounts, so this is a different line on a different budget. Where a rival is ahead of us, plainly: Profound's pricing page, read on 21 October 2026, publishes Up to 9 Answer Engines tracked and SSO/SAML + SOC 2 compliance on its enterprise plan, and our own rendered pricing page names five apps and carries none of those words. If your procurement starts with a security questionnaire, that is the honest comparison.
