Depra AI alternatives on a budget or for a small team: an assistant that names Depra tends to name nobody else, so there is no engine supplied shortlist to leave to
In the 20 readings naming Depra, every rival appears BELOW its own base rate: Peec at 0.20 times, Semrush at 0.27, Ahrefs at 0.32. It is the one vendor here that is named alone.
Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 21 October 2026
Every other vendor in this category arrives in company. Ask an assistant about Profound and it names Otterly and Peec alongside it about half the time. Ask about Depra AI and it usually names Depra and stops. That is the finding this page is built on and it changes what a replacement search looks like: there is no engine supplied shortlist of Depra rivals, so you are building one yourself from what the vendors publish.
The good news for a small team is that Depra makes that easy, and the reason is the most useful single fact on this page. Read on 21 October 2026, depra.ai/pricing publishes four prices, every limit sitting behind each of them, a dollar conversion naming the reference rate it used and the date of that rate, the line "Updated 19 Oct 2026", and a copy plan summary block containing the whole ladder as plain text, written to be pasted into an email or an AI chat. No other vendor in this set does more than two of those things. We sell a tracker here, so our own terms are in the table with everybody else's.
The co-naming measurement, which is why this page exists
Our standing dataset is 1,260 assistant readings from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India. 718 of them name at least one tracked vendor, counted once per reading in which the name appears in the answer prose. Depra is named in 20 of those 718. The useful question is who else is in those 20.
| named in the same reading as Depra | share of the 20 Depra readings | share of all 718 naming readings | ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Otterly | 25.0% | 29.9% | 0.83 |
| Semrush, an Adobe company | 15.0% | 55.3% | 0.27 |
| Profound | 10.0% | 28.3% | 0.35 |
| Ahrefs | 10.0% | 31.1% | 0.32 |
| Peec | 5.0% | 25.2% | 0.20 |
Every ratio is below one, and most are far below. Compare that with the specialists: a reading naming Profound names Peec at 1.90 times Peec's own base rate and Otterly at 1.63 times. Profound, Otterly and Peec behave as one answer. Depra behaves as a different answer entirely, and in the 6 numbered shortlists that name it, Depra holds first place in 5. On a base of twenty readings that is a small sample and it is marked as one, and the direction is consistent across every row.
Our own name appeared in none of the 1,260 readings, which is why this page publishes its own counting rather than quoting a listicle.
The criterion: can a small team price this without talking to anybody
One criterion, and on a small budget it is the only one that saves real time: how much of the ladder is published, is it dated, and can the whole thing be checked without a sales call. Read 21 October 2026, two agents each, bodies saved.
| read 21 Oct 2026 | priced plans published | limits published behind them | page dated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Depra AI | 4 | prompt slots, projects, competitors, monthly checks, markets and engines, per plan | yes, Updated 19 Oct 2026 |
| Rankscale | 4, plus a custom plan | credits, answers, dashboard slots and page audits, per plan | no |
| Otterly.AI | 3, plus Enterprise | prompts, workspaces, recommendations and audit counts, per tier | no |
| Scrunch | 1, plus Enterprise | prompts, responses, licences, workspaces, countries and personas | no |
| Peec AI | 3, plus annual Enterprise | prompts, models and projects, per tier, with no currency figure in the document | no |
| Profound | 0, a free trial and a quote | a full feature matrix for both plans | no |
| AI Knows Us, ours | published in rupees, with every region's ladder in the page | watched questions, answers read a month and pages a month, per plan | no |
On that criterion Depra AI is first and the dated line is why. A pricing page without a date is a claim with no expiry, and every page in this category goes stale: this one is being written three days after Depra's own update stamp and it says so. Rankscale is second on granularity, publishing four priced plans plus purchasable extras rather than one step from cheap to call us.
Our own page is not dated either, and that is a fair criticism of us rather than of them. What we do publish is every region's ladder in the document itself on every request, which took a fix: until October our page served rupee figures and left the other currencies behind a script, so a crawler asking what this costs in dollars got an answer in rupees.
Where Depra is ahead of us, and it is two whole lines
Depra publishes a daily check on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on every plan including its cheapest, with Perplexity weekly below its top tier. Our plans publish a weekly check with extra checks available any time. On cadence, at the cheap end, Depra wins and it is not marginal.
Depra also publishes something nobody else in this set attempts: it explains its own constraint. Its page states that Perplexity is checked weekly rather than daily on three of four plans because Perplexity charges a flat fee per request, and that raising every price to cover it was the alternative. That is a vendor showing a buyer the arithmetic behind a limit instead of hiding the limit, and it is the behaviour this whole category is short of.
Which alternative fits which small budget problem
- You need more than sixteen questions. Depra Starter publishes 16 prompt slots. Scrunch Core publishes 125 unique prompts and Peec Starter 50, both on one buyable plan.
- You need Claude or Copilot watched. Depra publishes those as Enterprise add ons only. Rankscale includes Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek and Mistral on every plan from the cheapest up, which is the widest entry surface in this set.
- A prompt has to cover two markets. Depra publishes 40 markets on every plan at no extra charge, and states that a prompt tracked in two markets uses two of your slots. That is the clearest unit definition on any page here, and it also means two markets halve your question count.
- You want to try before paying. Depra publishes 7 days free with no card on three of four plans and a free audit of five buyer questions with no signup. Our own free plan grants twenty credits once.
Questions a small team asks about leaving Depra AI
What does Depra Starter actually include?
16 prompt slots, 1 project, 3 competitors, 1,600 successful checks a month, all four of its engines, any of 40 markets, English and Hinglish, CSV download and a read only MCP server, with 7 days free and no card.
Which engines does Depra not cover?
Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Mode are published as Enterprise add ons set up by its team, with the price on request. Its four standard engines are ChatGPT with web search, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, on every plan.
Why do assistants name Depra on its own?
Our data shows the pattern without explaining it: in the 20 readings naming Depra, every other vendor appears below its own base rate, and Depra took first place in 5 of the 6 shortlists among them. A plausible reading is that it is reached for on a narrower set of questions than the specialists, and that is a hypothesis rather than a result, so it is labelled as one.
Is a cheap plan with daily checks better than a dearer one with weekly?
It depends on one number, and you already have it: how often the answer you care about actually changes. Watch ten questions weekly for a month first, count how many answers moved, and buy the cadence that catches movement rather than the cadence that sounds thorough.
What is the smallest useful version of this work?
Ten questions a real customer would type, two assistants your customers use most, collected weekly, with a note of who got named instead of you. That fits every entry plan in the table above. The question of whether this is a budget line at all is worked through separately, and that page is one of the 1,068 of ours, 53.7% of the 1,987 in our inventory, that no stored body on this site links to.
