Scrunch AI vs Rankscale: of 35 readings that named either, one named both, and their answer ceilings are set in different currencies of usage
A credit that buys a fraction of an engine query against a flat monthly response count. Both pricing documents read 20 October 2026, both HTTP 200.

Choose Rankscale if you want to decide for yourself where the measurement budget goes, because it meters in credits, publishes the conversion rate from a credit to an engine query, puts nine named surfaces on every paid tier and lets unused credits roll over. Choose Scrunch AI if you want a flat ceiling and some site side work with it, because its entry tier publishes 125 unique prompts and 5,000 responses a month alongside five site audits, and its product list names the agent experience half of the job explicitly. Neither is better. They are metered in two different currencies, and converting between them is the only way to compare the quotes.
The lead finding, and it is about the assistants rather than the products
On 16 October 2026 we put 630 buying questions to ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, took 1,260 readings and saved the answer text. Counting one naming per reading, Scrunch AI appeared in the answer text of 21 readings and Rankscale in 15.
35 readings named at least one of the two. Exactly one named both, on ChatGPT, and none on Gemini. 20 named Scrunch alone and 14 named Rankscale alone.
That is the lowest overlap of any pair we counted, and it is worth stating what it means and what it does not. It means an assistant has essentially never been asked a question it answers with both of these names, so a buyer holding this shortlist built it by reading product pages. It does not mean either product is small or unsuited: Rankscale publishes five tiers with a credit calculator and states over a thousand active users, and Scrunch publishes a named entry tier with a response ceiling. Our own name appeared in zero of the same 1,260 readings, which is the clearest available demonstration that a mention count measures repetition on the web rather than capability.
A name in answer text is a different event from a domain appearing in an answer's source list. The two are counted and reported apart here.
The criterion this page uses
We build a product in the same category, we have tested neither of these, and nothing on this page is scored. The criterion is each company's own published metering: the unit, the conversion rate from that unit to an AI answer, the ceiling it buys and which engines are inside the tier. Both companies publish enough to answer that, which is more than most documents in this category manage, and it is checkable by you in ten minutes.
What Rankscale's pricing document published on 20 October 2026
- The unit is a credit, and the conversion rate is printed: "Credits power all monitoring. Each time Rankscale queries an AI engine, it uses a fraction of a credit (typically 0.25). Your allocation renews each billing cycle, top up anytime."
- Monthly credit allocations of 1,200, 3,000, 5,500 and 12,000 across its Pro, Pro+, Growth and Enterprise tiers, with an Essentials tier sold yearly only and a custom plan above.
- An answer ceiling beside each one: "Track up to" 4,800, 12,000, 22,000 and 48,000 "answers from AI engines".
- Credit rollover published as a multiplier, up to two times the monthly allocation on the lower tiers and up to three times on the higher ones.
- Brand dashboard slots of 10, 25, 50 and 100, with extra slots buyable in the app, and page audit allowances of 50, 100, 200 and 200.
- "Search terms: unlimited. Creation unlimited, execution uses credits." Regions: all.
- Nine surfaces listed against every paid tier: OpenAI ChatGPT, Perplexity AI, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek AI, Mistral AI, Anthropic Claude and Microsoft Copilot, with a banner announcing support for Meta Muse Spark.
- A REST API from the second tier, white label options from the third, and a credit calculator on the page itself.
What Scrunch's pricing document published the same day
- Two tiers. Core publishes 125 unique prompts, 5,000 responses a month, 5 site audits a month, 1 brand workspace and 5 user licences, with a seven day free trial.
- Four LLMs supported on Core, named as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot.
- Enterprise publishes a custom number of unique prompts and responses, an agent experience platform, complete site audits, custom workspaces and licences, API access and integrations, expanded model coverage, SSO with SAML and OIDC and a dedicated account team.
- Nine LLMs supported on Enterprise, named as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Copilot and Grok.
- Its own navigation groups the product as agent experience, naming agent pages, agent traffic and site optimisation, and monitoring and insights, naming monitoring and citations, insights and shopping.
Neither company's figures are reproduced here. We record the limits that set a tier and send you to the vendor's own page for the money, because a price restated elsewhere goes stale into a false statement about another business.
How to convert one into the other
Rankscale gives you the rate, so do the sum. At roughly a quarter of a credit per engine query, 1,200 credits is about 4,800 engine queries a month, which is the ceiling its own page prints beside that tier. Scrunch's Core tier prints 5,000 responses a month directly. Those two ceilings are close enough that the comparison moves on to what else the tier carries: nine engines and ten brand dashboards against four engines, one brand workspace, five licences and five site audits.
The structural difference is where the flexibility sits. At Rankscale your allowance is fungible, so a month spent heavily on one brand and lightly on another is fine, and unused credits roll forward up to a published multiple. At Scrunch the response count is flat and the workspace count is fixed, which is simpler to budget and less forgiving of an uneven month. Ask Rankscale what a credit costs when topped up mid cycle, and ask Scrunch what happens when you reach 5,000 responses on the twentieth of the month.
If the number you are working towards is a budget rather than a ceiling, start from the other end. The smallest AI visibility budget that changes anything sets out the one page a finance team will actually ask for, and both of these tiers sit comfortably inside it.
Who each one suits
- An agency with uneven client demand. Rankscale's credit pool, rollover multiplier, brand dashboard slots and white label options from its third tier are built for that shape.
- One brand, one clear budget line. Scrunch's Core tier is a single published ceiling you can hand to finance without a calculator.
- Buyers using Claude, DeepSeek or Mistral. Rankscale lists all three on every paid tier. Scrunch lists Claude on its enterprise tier and four engines on Core. That difference arrives at the entry tier, which is where most evaluations happen.
- A site nobody has checked for agent readability. Scrunch's product list names that half of the work and includes site audits at entry. Rankscale publishes page audit allowances per tier, so both have something here. Compare the allowances.
- A team that will build on the data. Rankscale publishes a REST API from its second tier. Scrunch lists API access and integrations against enterprise. Settle that before you pick a tier, not after.
Questions buyers ask when choosing between Scrunch AI and Rankscale
Why have I not seen these two compared before?
Because the assistants almost never put them in one answer. Of the 35 readings in our run that named either, one named both. Most comparison content in any category follows what gets mentioned together, so a pair with an overlap of one has very little written about it.
What is a credit actually worth?
Rankscale publishes the rate on its own page: each query to an AI engine uses a fraction of a credit, typically 0.25. Multiply your prompt count by the engines you select by the refresh rate, divide the engine queries by four, and you have the credits a month you need. Its page also offers a calculator for the same sum.
Which one gives me more engines at the entry tier?
Rankscale lists nine surfaces against every paid tier. Scrunch lists four on Core and nine on enterprise. If the engine list at entry is what you are buying, that is the single clearest difference between the two documents.
Does an unused allowance carry forward?
Rankscale publishes credit rollover as a multiplier, up to two times on its lower tiers and up to three times on the higher ones. Scrunch publishes a flat monthly response count, so ask what happens to an unused month and to an overrun.
Why does this page print no prices?
This site records prices and does not restate them, including competitors'. Both companies publish their own, and a copy here would be a claim about somebody else's business that we had stopped checking.
The conversion to do before either call
Write one line for each vendor: prompts, engines by name, refresh rate, resulting AI answers a month, and what happens when you run out. A credit and a response are the same thing in different clothes once that line is filled in. We publish the same line for our own readings, with the denominator and the date attached, because an answer count without those two is a figure nobody can audit.
