SpyFu's three plans, the first month figure that is not the ongoing price, and the 33 dollar entry only its home page carries

The ladder lives behind a redirect, the middle plan has two monthly numbers, and the vendor's own savings line tells you which one is real.

Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 29 October 2026

SpyFu publishes three plans and two billing modes, and the document that holds them is not at the address you would type. On 29 October 2026, www.spyfu.com/pricing returned HTTP 302 with a location header pointing at /mainpurchase/, and following it landed on www.spyfu.com/mainpurchase/?page=default, which returned HTTP 200 at about 126 kilobytes with 762 visible words and the whole ladder in it. Basic is 39 US dollars a month billed monthly, or 29 a month billed annually. Team or Agency is 249 a month billed monthly, or 187 a month billed annually. The middle plan, Pro plus AI, is where the page needs reading rather than scanning: the monthly card shows 59, and the small print beside it reads 119 a month thereafter. So 59 buys your first month and 119 is the price from month two. Billed annually, the same plan is 89 a month. The page title says pricing starts at 29 a month, which is the annual Basic figure.

Google Keyword Planner puts this group of phrasings at 10 searches a month in Singapore, harvested on 26 October 2026 against geo 2702 and read as the group maximum rather than a sum of its wordings. Small demand, and the people typing it are mid purchase, which is why the first month trap is worth 800 words.

Where the figures live, and the one on the home page that is not on them

Three readings on 29 October 2026, each with what the server returned.

  • www.spyfu.com/pricing. HTTP 302, a 131 byte body, location header /mainpurchase/. No figure, because there is no page here to hold one.
  • www.spyfu.com/mainpurchase/?page=default. HTTP 200, about 126 kilobytes, 762 visible words, three plan cards and a full comparison table. Every figure quoted below comes from this document.
  • www.spyfu.com, the home page. HTTP 200, about 255 kilobytes, 1,832 visible words, carrying the sentence Membership starts at just 33 dollars a month, unlimited data and downloads.

Thirty three is not on the ladder. The cheapest figure on the plan document is 29 a month on annual billing and 39 on monthly billing, and nothing between them lands on 33. Two of the vendor's own pages therefore give a buyer two different entry prices on the same day, and the one a buyer meets first is the one that is not in the plan table. Take the figure from the plan document, with the date, and confirm it at checkout where the billing period is stated.

One related reading is worth recording because an earlier attempt from this office got a different answer. Our page on replacing SpyFu records spyfu.com/pricing answering HTTP 403 with a Cloudflare notice earlier the same day, and concluded correctly that the block sat on the path rather than on the visitor. The redirect above is why: the path is not a page, and a client that is challenged or that does not follow the hop sees no price at all. A 403 and a 302 on one address, hours apart, are both readings of a server and neither is evidence that a vendor hides its prices.

The ladder as the plan document prints it

PlanBilled monthlyBilled annuallyVendor savings line
Basic39 a month29 a monthSave 120 per year
Pro plus AI59 first month, then 11989 a monthSave 360 per year
Team or Agency249 a month187 a monthSave 744 per year

All figures are US dollars, taken from the plan cards and the compare table on the same page on the same day.

The arithmetic that proves which monthly price is real

SpyFu prints its own savings figure under each annual card, and all three of them tie to the cent. That makes them a free audit of the rest of the page.

  • Basic. Monthly at 39 is 468 a year. Annual at 29 is 348 a year. The difference is 120, which is exactly the savings line.
  • Team or Agency. Monthly at 249 is 2,988 a year. Annual at 187 is 2,244. The difference is 744, again exactly the savings line.
  • Pro plus AI. Annual at 89 is 1,068 a year. For the saving to be 360, the monthly comparison has to be 1,428 a year, which is 119 a month. Run the same sum against the 59 shown on the card and the saving would be negative.

So SpyFu's own savings arithmetic confirms that 119 is the standing monthly price for the middle plan and 59 is an introductory month. Nothing is hidden here, the asterisk says so, and a buyer comparing three vendors on a spreadsheet of headline numbers will still get it wrong. Write the month two price into the comparison, not the month one price.

What actually changes your bill, which is not the plan name

Three things move the real annual figure more than the tier does.

  • Seats. Basic and Pro plus AI include one user. Team or Agency includes five. Extra users are 15 each on Basic and 30 each on the two plans above it, as listed in the compare table. A two person team on Pro plus AI is therefore 89 plus 30 a month on annual billing, not 89.
  • Rows. Basic caps domain searches, keyword searches, backlink searches, competitor results, keyword group results, domain comparisons and exports at 10,000 rows each. Both plans above it say unlimited for all of those. If you pull lists rather than look things up, the cap is the decision and the tier name is incidental.
  • API. API access is listed on all three plans, with included API credits shown as 40 on Pro plus AI and 100 on Team or Agency, and the page points to a separate API pricing page for anything beyond that.

Read the RivalFlow row carefully if the content improvement tool is why you are buying. The entry plan lists it with zero sites, so on Basic the feature is in the list and not in use.

What a Singapore buyer should settle before paying

Every figure on that page is in US dollars. There is no Singapore dollar option and no GST line anywhere on it, so the card charge lands in dollars and the tax treatment is a question for your own accounts rather than something the pricing page answers. Budget in the currency you will actually be billed in, and if you are converting for an internal approval, write the rate and the date next to the number so the approval still makes sense in March.

Two more practical points from the same reading. The page offers a 30 day money back arrangement and says there are no contracts, with cancellation by email, live chat or phone as well as from the account page. And one tracked project on Basic is the constraint that catches agencies first: ten projects start on Pro plus AI, which on annual billing is 60 dollars a month more than Basic.

If the reason you are comparing SpyFu at all is competitor keyword data on a small budget, it is worth putting its Basic tier beside the entry tiers in the cheapest keyword research tool a Singapore buyer can actually run, which is priced per credit rather than per seat and lands in a different place for light use.

Questions buyers ask about SpyFu pricing

Why does the home page say 33 dollars a month

It does, and the plan table does not. The home page sentence read on 29 October 2026 gives 33 as the starting membership figure, while the plan document shows 29 on annual billing and 39 on monthly. Quote the plan document and check the figure at checkout.

Is SpyFu 29 dollars a month or 39

Both, depending on how you pay. 29 is the Basic plan billed annually and 39 is the same plan billed month to month. The page headline quotes the annual figure.

Why does the middle plan show two prices

Because the monthly card is an introductory offer. It shows 59 for the first month with 119 a month thereafter in the note beside it. The annual equivalent is 89 a month.

Does SpyFu have a free plan

The plan document lists no free tier. The three paid plans are the whole ladder on it, and the trial route the page offers is the 30 day money back arrangement rather than a free account.

Which plan removes the 10,000 row limit

Pro plus AI. Basic caps every search and export surface at 10,000 rows, and both plans above it are listed as unlimited on those rows.

How much is an extra user

15 a month on Basic and 30 a month on Pro plus AI and on Team or Agency, as listed in the compare table. Team or Agency includes five users before any extra charge.

Is SpyFu billed in Singapore dollars

No. Every figure on the plan document is in US dollars and the page shows no currency selector, so convert before you compare it with a locally billed tool.

The row on SpyFu's own table with no number in it

SpyFu now sells AI brand monitoring on all three plans, marked limited on Basic and unlimited above it, and one line under it is worth a second look: the compare table lists ChatGPT Brands with a dash in all three columns. A tool whose plan page sells monitoring of what assistants say about a brand, while leaving the brand count blank, is telling you the surface is new and the metering is not settled yet. That is the honest state of this whole category in October 2026, and it is why the question of which suppliers an assistant actually names in your category is still settled by asking it rather than by reading a feature matrix. AI Knows Us was built around the metering that row leaves blank: a fixed set of buying questions, put to the assistants, with a count of how often each supplier comes back named. It is a different purchase from a keyword suite and it belongs on a different budget line.
