Thrive Internet Marketing Agency compared, and the one number its own site does not publish
Thrive publishes more checkable figures about itself than almost any agency in this research. It publishes no price, and the gap between those two facts is the useful thing on this page.
Published by AI Knows Us · Updated 22 October 2026
Thrive is unusual in this market and the unusual thing is measurable. Read at thriveagency.com on 21 October 2026, it publishes a team size, a founding year, a client retention percentage, a review count broken down by platform, an awards record and a city count. Most agencies publish none of those. It publishes no price, which is the one figure a buyer wants, and this page is ordered on that distinction rather than on an opinion about the work.
What Thrive publishes about itself, in its own words
Taken verbatim from its own site on 21 October 2026.
| What it publishes | Its own wording |
|---|---|
| Self description | "Thrive Internet Marketing Agency is a full-service digital marketing agency", an "industry-leading digital marketing service provider since 2005" |
| Team size | "Our team of 160+ online marketing experts" |
| Retention | 95 percent client retention |
| Reviews | Over 1,000 client reviews, with 150+ on Google and 100+ on Clutch |
| Awards | On the Inc. 5000 list for seven consecutive years |
| Footprint | Operates in 25 cities, headquarters "in Arlington, Texas", clients nationwide |
| Method | A "Thrive Score" covering over 150 evaluation factors |
| Terms | "affordable pricing for any size budget" and "we don't require long-term contracts" |
| Price | None. No figure renders anywhere. Its contact form offers monthly budget ranges from under $750 to above $100,000, which are inputs for a prospect to pick rather than a published rate. |
Three of those deserve reading carefully rather than taking at face value.
The retention figure. 95 percent is high and it is also the single easiest agency statistic to define favourably, because the denominator is a choice. Ask what period it covers and whether a client who reduced scope by eighty percent counts as retained. A firm that answers that precisely has a real number.
The 25 cities. This is a service footprint claim, not necessarily an office count, and the headquarters sentence names only Arlington. If local presence matters to your brief, ask which of the 25 has staff in it.
The budget ranges on the form. Starting at under $750 a month is informative in a different way: it tells you the firm serves a very wide range, which is a genuine strength for a small business and a genuine risk for a large one, because the question becomes which tier of the agency you land in.
The service list, and the one line on it that matters here
Its published categories cover digital marketing strategy, SEO including local, technical, AI and enterprise variants, conversion rate optimisation, pay per click and social advertising, social media management, link building and digital public relations, web design and development including accessibility and hosting, video, photography and drone production, content marketing and copywriting, ecommerce and marketplace work across Amazon, Walmart and Target Plus, reputation management, a local arm with review management, SMS and listings, and generative engine optimisation for AI search.
That last item is the reason this page exists in this series. Thrive sells the work of becoming the answer an assistant gives. It is one agency among a growing number doing so, and it is selling a service whose result is measured on a surface the agency does not control.
For the category question behind the missing price, including the one published range in this market that actually holds up, this site carries digital marketing agency pricing and cost compared. Measured on 21 October 2026, no other page on this site links to that one, out of 2,405 live pages of which 982 have no inbound internal link by the same measure, 40.8 percent and an upper bound because a link can only be counted inside a body we hold.
Where AI Knows Us sits, which is on the other side of Thrive's invoice
AI Knows Us is not an alternative to Thrive and nobody should shortlist us against it. Thrive has 160 people selling eleven disciplines; we sell one reading and employ nobody who will write you a page. A buyer choosing between us has misread what one of us does.
The accurate relationship is that we are the acceptance test for one line on Thrive's own service list. If you buy generative engine optimisation from Thrive, or from any agency selling it, the deliverable is a change in whether assistants name you, and the supplier doing the work is also the party reporting on whether it worked. That is not an accusation about Thrive specifically. It is true of every agency selling this service, and it is the ordinary reason an audit is not performed by the auditee.
What we do is the reading, independently of whoever did the work. We put a buyer's real question to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews with the company name kept out of the question, and report which companies get named. Read at aiknowsus.com/pricing on 23 October 2026, Growth is $299 a month for 100 buyer questions, 1,200 scheduled answers and all five apps, and a Claude check uses 3 credits "because Claude costs us more to run" while most checks use one. The published floor, SEO Start at $149, watches 0 buyer questions on 0 engines and buys none of this.
On the criterion this page actually ranks on, which is what each firm publishes that a buyer can check before buying, Thrive beats us on breadth and we beat it on price. Thrive publishes eight verifiable facts about itself and no rate; we publish eight tiers each with a dollar figure, a question allowance and an engine count, in six currencies, and almost nothing about our own staff. Neither of those is better in the abstract. If you are choosing a supplier you will work with weekly, Thrive's disclosures are the more useful set. If you are budgeting, ours are.
Questions buyers ask about Thrive and firms like it
Why does a firm publish retention and awards but no price? Because price depends on scope and because publishing one invites comparison on the wrong axis. It is a normal commercial choice and it means your only route to a number is a scoping call.
Is a 160 person agency right for a small business? It can be, and the question is which pod you land in. Ask for the named team and the share of their week, not the firm's headcount.
Should I trust the review counts? The platform totals are checkable in a browser. Note that the four major review platforms refused automated requests on 21 October 2026, so nobody can audit the score distribution at scale; open the profiles yourself and read the three star reviews.
Can an agency selling AI search work also prove it worked? It can report on it. Whether that is proof is the same question as any supplier measuring its own output, and the answer is to get the reading from somewhere the supplier does not control.
