What a booth at a major Singapore trade show actually costs, read off two organisers' own rate cards in two different currencies
One Singapore show publishes per square metre rates in Singapore dollars and another publishes package rates in US dollars, both with GST on top, so a buyer comparing them is comparing across currencies before anything else.

Space is between a quarter and a half of what a Singapore stand costs you, and the two shows in this market that publish rates publish them in different currencies. Read on medicalfair-asia.com on 29 October 2026, Medical Fair Asia lists "Option A Space Only (min 24 sqm) S$620.00 per sqm", "Option B Basic Shell Scheme (min 12 sqm) S$720.00 per sqm" and "Option C Enhanced Shell Scheme (min 12 sqm) S$840.00 per sqm" for its edition at Marina Bay Sands on 9 to 11 September 2026. Read on itb-asia.com the same day, ITB Asia's 2026 rate card for its 21 to 23 October 2026 edition prints raw space at "Corner stand : US$6,304* per 9sqm", "Peninsula stand : US$7,286* per 9sqm" and "Island stand : US$8,475* per 9sqm", with the asterisk explained as "Prevailing Goods and Services Tax". So a Singapore buyer pricing a booth is looking at Singapore dollars per square metre on one show and US dollars per nine square metres on another, before the build, the staff and the follow up are counted.
The two published Singapore rate cards, side by side
Both sets below were read in the served page on 29 October 2026 and both describe editions that have already taken place, which matters and is covered under the next heading. Every figure is quoted as the organiser printed it.
| Show | What it published |
|---|---|
| Medical Fair Asia 2026, Marina Bay Sands, 9 to 11 September 2026 | Space only, minimum 24 sqm, "S$620.00 per sqm". Basic shell scheme, minimum 12 sqm, "S$720.00 per sqm". Enhanced shell scheme, minimum 12 sqm, "S$840.00 per sqm" |
| ITB Asia 2026, Singapore, 21 to 23 October 2026, complete stand packages | Basic shell scheme complete stand package, "Listed Rate: US$5,993*". Premium shell scheme, "US$7,412*". The page states that "When renting up to 9sqm it is mandatory to select the complete stand package" |
| ITB Asia 2026, enhanced completed stand packages | 27 sqm peninsula basic, "US$23,232*". 27 sqm peninsula premium, "US$25,614*". 36 sqm island basic, "US$34,550*". 36 sqm island premium, "US$35,742*". The page adds that "All packages are subjected to applicable GST" |
| ITB Asia 2026, raw space | Corner stand "US$6,304* per 9sqm". Peninsula stand "US$7,286* per 9sqm". Island stand "US$8,475* per 9sqm". Above 504 sqm, "the Row Stand price of US$ 5,134.10/ 9 sqm is applicable on every incremental 9 sqm raw space thereafter" |
Three things fall out of reading them together. The stand form is a price, not a preference: an island costs about 34 per cent more per nine square metres than a corner on the same show, read 29 October 2026, because it has four open sides. A minimum is a real constraint, and Medical Fair Asia's 24 square metre floor on space only means the cheapest per square metre option is the most expensive total commitment. And on small footprints the choice is made for you, because up to nine square metres ITB Asia requires the complete package rather than raw space.
The rate card you can read today is usually last edition's
Both of those shows have now run. The pages carrying their rates are still served, which is normal and useful, and it means the figures above are a benchmark rather than a quote. Treat them the way you would treat a published salary range: good for working out whether you are in the right order of magnitude, useless for a contract.
The practical sequence is to use the published figure to size the decision, then ask the organiser for the next edition's prospectus in writing and compare the two. Organisers change stand forms, minimums, early booking windows and co location arrangements between editions, and the one number that moves least is the per square metre order of magnitude.
It is also worth knowing that a 404 in this category looks exactly like a page. When we opened the sponsorship path on itb-asia.com on 29 October 2026 it returned HTTP 404 and served about 181 KB of fully styled page with the site's own navigation on it. Anybody collecting rates by eye, or any tool that treats a body longer than zero as a successful read, would have recorded that as a page with no prices on it rather than as a page that does not exist. Check the status code, never the body.
The all in multiplier, and the four lines the rate card does not contain
A shell scheme buys you walls, a fascia with your name on it, basic lighting and power. Everything else is a separate order, usually from the official contractor, usually with a deadline that carries a late surcharge. Budget these four before you sign for space.
- Build and graphics. On a shell scheme, printed panels, a counter and a lockable store. On raw space, the whole structure. This is the line that turns a space figure into a stand figure and it is the most variable of the four.
- Services. Additional power, rigging, internet, water where you need it, daily cleaning, furniture hire and storage. Individually small and collectively a third of a first time exhibitor's surprise.
- People for three days. Three staff off their normal work for set up, three show days and tear down is most of a working week each. For a Singapore company exhibiting in Singapore this is the cheapest version of this line it will ever buy, which is a genuine argument for the home show over the regional one.
- The week after. Somebody rostered to call every conversation within five working days. An exhibitor that books this before it books the stand gets a different result from one that does not, and it costs almost nothing compared with the space.
GST sits on top of all of it. IRAS publishes that "The current GST rate is 9%" and that a business "must register for GST when your taxable turnover exceeds $1 million", read on iras.gov.sg on 29 October 2026, and both organiser pages above state that prevailing GST applies to their rates. So a figure quoted to you without a tax line is not yet a figure.
Which Singapore shows are worth it, judged on something you can check
Taste cannot rank a trade show and neither can an attendance headline. Four records can, and an organiser that will not supply them has answered the question.
- The previous edition's post show report, with the attendee breakdown by job title and country. ITB Asia publishes a post show report for its 2025 edition on its own site, read 29 October 2026, which is the right shape of document to ask for. What you want from it is the proportion of visitors who buy what you sell, not the total.
- The exhibitor list from last time. Read it for your competitors and your customers. A show where three of your competitors returned for a fifth year is a show where somebody is making money.
- The co location arrangement. Medical Fair Asia's own page names a co located show on the same dates, read 29 October 2026, and a co location doubles the floor and halves the relevance of the footfall number you are quoted.
- The hosted buyer programme. If the organiser flies in qualified buyers and schedules meetings, the value of the stand changes completely, because you are buying a diary rather than a passing crowd. ITB Asia's own pages describe pre scheduled business meetings and a hosted buyer route, read 29 October 2026.
Ask for the first two in writing before you negotiate on price. An organiser with a strong show hands them over, and the request itself tells you a great deal about how the next twelve months of that relationship will go.
What sponsoring a Singapore industry event costs, and how to choose one
Sponsorship rates in this market are not generally published, and that is the finding rather than a gap in this page. ITB Asia carries a sponsorship and advertising section in its own navigation and routes to a list of opportunities behind a form, and the direct path returned HTTP 404 when we opened it on 29 October 2026. Singapore EXPO's own event packages page returned HTTP 200 and served no price figure at all, read the same day. Constellar, which manages major Singapore venue space, publishes no figures either.
So price it from the inside out. Three questions settle whether a sponsorship is worth its number, whatever that number turns out to be.
- What do I get that money cannot otherwise buy? A speaking slot on the main programme, the attendee list, or a hosted dinner are assets. A logo on a banner is not, at any price, for a B2B company selling a considered purchase.
- How many of my buyers will be in the room, by job title? Multiply that by your own cost per qualified conversation from your advertising accounts. If the sponsorship is three times your current cost per conversation, it needs to produce something other than conversations to justify it.
- What is the renewal position? Sponsorship pricing is softest for a first time partner and firmest at renewal, so negotiate the second year in the first contract or accept that you are buying a one off.
What a qualified conversation is actually worth to you is the number this whole decision rests on, and the two platforms most Singapore companies use will not calculate it for you, which we set out in our page on what a lead costs in Singapore. The same unpublished rate card problem appears in traditional media buying here, recorded in our page on hiring a billboard, newspaper or media agency near you in Singapore.
What two assistants said when a Singapore buyer asked about booths and sponsorship
The instrument is saved assistant answers rather than a keyword tool, and no search volume exists for questions asked this way. On 28 October 2026 we re-ran the Singapore audit in four languages, 21 batches and 126 questions, producing 42 readings with no failures. The brand batch names us inside its own prompt and is excluded from every blind figure, leaving 40 blind readings, 16 of them in English, and in those 40 AI Knows Us was named 0 times and cited 0 times.
The events, trade shows and sponsorship batch produced two readings per question, one on each engine. The only vendor named anywhere in that batch was HubSpot, and no Singapore show, venue, organiser or stand contractor was named in any reading. Across the whole blind set the engines named Otterly in 9 readings and cited it in 6, Semrush named in 9 and cited in 10, HubSpot named in 9 and cited in 5, Profound named in 7 and cited in 2, Peec named in 7 and cited in 7, Ahrefs named in 6 and cited in 5, Yext named in 2 and Sprout Social in 1. Named and cited are two findings on two separate measures and they are never added together.
For an exhibitor that is a straightforward conclusion. The figures that decide this purchase are on organiser pages, two of which publish them in full, and an assistant asked the same question today returns the shape of the answer rather than the rate. Reading two rate cards takes about twenty minutes and it is the better instrument.
Questions about exhibiting and sponsoring in Singapore
Is shell scheme or raw space cheaper for a small Singapore exhibitor
Shell scheme, almost always, below about 18 square metres. On Medical Fair Asia's published 2026 rates the shell scheme carried a 12 square metre minimum against 24 for space only, and cost S$720 per square metre against S$620, read 29 October 2026. The hundred dollar per square metre difference buys walls, a fascia and lighting you would otherwise commission, and the halved minimum is usually the bigger saving.
Why would an organiser price in US dollars for a show held in Singapore
Because the exhibitor base is international and the organiser may be too. It is a legitimate commercial choice with two consequences for you. Your cost moves with the exchange rate between signing and paying, and your finance team needs to know that before the deposit. Ask whether a Singapore dollar invoice is available, because the answer is sometimes yes.
How much should I budget in total if the space is S$15,000
Plan on the space being a quarter to a half of the total and work from your own quotes rather than a rule. On that space figure, a build, services, three staff for a week and a funded follow up week lands most Singapore exhibitors somewhere between S$30,000 and S$60,000 all in. Get the contractor quote before you sign the space contract and the range narrows immediately.
What should I ask the organiser before I commit
The previous edition's post show report with visitor job titles and countries, the previous exhibitor list, the floor plan with your preferred stand forms marked, the deadline schedule for contractor orders with the late surcharges named, and whether the show is co located with another. Five documents, one email, and the reply is the most useful thing in the whole decision.
Is a small stand at a big show better than a big stand at a small one
For a first appearance, the small stand at the show your buyers already attend, every time. You are buying access to a diary, not floor area, and a nine square metre complete package at a show with a hosted buyer programme produces more conversations than twice the space at a show nobody you sell to has heard of.
Why there is no product of ours on this page
We measure whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name a business when a buyer asks, and nothing in that measurement will tell an exhibitor what a corner stand costs at a Singapore show. Putting ourselves into an exhibition budget would be padding it, so this page recommends nobody from our side of the fence. The one carryover worth having is the method rather than the product: every figure above names the page it came from and the day somebody read it, including the 404 that arrived dressed as a page. An exhibition budget built that way survives a finance review, and so does a marketing claim.
