What to do when an AI assistant states something wrong about your UAE business
You cannot edit the answer, and you can change almost everything it was assembled from. Here is the order that works, and the one case where the answer is to do nothing.

An assistant has told a buyer something untrue about your UAE business. There is no correction form, no appeal and no ticket queue, and that makes most advice on this subject useless. What you can do is change the material the answer was built from, and in this market that material is more reachable than it looks. Work in this order.
Step one, capture the answer before it changes
Screenshot it, copy the full text, note the engine, the date and the exact question you asked. Answers move, and an undocumented complaint is not actionable by anybody including you. Ask the same question twice more in a fresh session, because the same question does not always return the same answer and you need to know whether you are looking at a persistent claim or a one off.
Step two, classify what kind of wrong it is
| Type | Example | Where the fix lives |
|---|---|---|
| Stale fact | An old address, a closed branch, a former name | Your own site and the directories and registries that still carry the old value |
| Mixed identity | You have been merged with a similarly named firm | Disambiguation on your own pages, consistent naming everywhere |
| Invented detail | A service you do not offer, a price you never charged | An explicit, findable page that answers that exact question |
| Negative claim from a source | A complaint, a forum thread, a bad article | The source itself, and a stronger first party answer |
| Absence | You are simply not mentioned | Not a correction problem, and the most common case in this market |
Step three, fix the sources in the order the engines read them
Our own UAE reading tells you where to start, which is more useful than a generic list. On 22 October 2026 we put 198 UAE buying questions to ChatGPT and Gemini, market fixed inside the prompt, and took 60 blind readings. The source pattern in those readings was clear.
- Your own pages come first. 38 of the 60 readings cited at least one .ae host, across 208 distinct UAE hosts, and small company sites publishing their own material were cited as often as the large directories.
- Government and official hosts matter more than expected. 16 of 60 readings cited a UAE government host, across 41 distinct ones, led by u.ae in 15 readings and moec.gov.ae in 8. If a licensing or registry record about you is out of date, that is a correctable source with real weight.
- Directories are weaker than the pitch suggests. clutch.co appeared in 11 readings, goodfirms.co in 5, designrush.com in 3, g2.com in 2 and trustpilot.com in none. Worth correcting, not worth a campaign.
Two source hygiene notes, because they matter when you are chasing down where a claim came from. The UAE set contains ccn.web.tr and a host of the form developers-google-com followed by a random string. Both are proxies and mirrors rather than publishers, so a claim that appears to come from one of them actually came from somewhere else, and you should look for the original before you act.
Step four, publish the answer rather than the denial
The instinct is to write a page saying the claim is false. That is weaker than writing the page that answers the question the buyer was asking. If an assistant says you do not serve Abu Dhabi, the fix is a page that states exactly where you operate, in plain language, with the detail a machine can lift. If it invents a price, publish what you actually charge or how your pricing works. The correction is a side effect of the better answer.
Step five, re read on a schedule and keep the file
Set the question list once, read it monthly, and keep every reading. Two reasons. You will be able to show that a claim persisted or disappeared, with dates, which is the only basis for escalating anything to anybody. And you will catch the next one in weeks rather than in a sales call.
The case where the right answer is to do nothing
If the wrong thing is minor, the question that produced it is one nobody asks, and the answer did not repeat when you asked again, leave it. Answers vary between runs. Chasing a single non repeating answer burns a week and teaches you nothing, and the time is better spent on the questions your buyers actually ask.
Absence is the other do nothing case, and it is the common one here. Across our 60 UAE readings, 34 named no supplier at all. If you are not mentioned, nothing has gone wrong and no correction applies. That is a publishing problem with a much cheaper fix than a reputation problem.
Questions UAE businesses ask about wrong AI answers
Can I report an error to the engine? The consumer apps have feedback mechanisms and they are not a correction process with a timeline you can rely on. Use them, and do not wait on them. The source work is what changes the answer.
Is there a legal route if the claim is damaging? That is a question for a UAE qualified lawyer, and the first thing they will ask for is the documentation from step one. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
How long does a fix take to show up? It depends on when the engine next reads the source you changed, so measure monthly and expect weeks rather than days. The useful discipline is the repeat reading, not the waiting.
Should we correct every directory? Correct the ones that carry your core facts, and do not build a programme around it. On our reading the directories are not where this market's answers are coming from.
What if the claim came from a competitor's page? Then your own page is the remedy, because you cannot edit theirs. Publish the specific, checkable version of the fact and make it easier to find than the claim.
How to know a claim is in circulation before a buyer repeats it to you
Most businesses discover a wrong answer when a prospect quotes it back in a meeting, which is the most expensive possible moment. The alternative is a standing reading. AI Knows Us puts a question set you keep to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews every month, records what each answer said about you and which sources it leaned on, and reports citation and naming separately because they are two different results. For a buyer in the United Arab Emirates the plan that reads all five engines is 199 dollars a month, the price outside the United States and the United Kingdom, read from aiknowsus.com on 22 October 2026.
If the underlying issue is that your business is being shown to the wrong country rather than described wrongly, that is a different diagnosis, and the UAE version of it is covered in our page on how to select an SEO company in the UAE.
