Yext pricing and plans compared, where the self serve ladder stops and Scout begins
One product has a checkout and a published ladder, the other has a demo, and the line between them is ten locations.

Yext publishes two completely different pricing behaviours and the address most buyers try is not one of them. Read on 20 October 2026, yext.com/pricing returned HTTP 404 to a Chrome on Windows agent and to a Safari on macOS agent. The ladder that does exist is at yext.com/plans, it is for the listings product, it is explicitly for businesses with up to ten locations, and the page says what to do above that: ask for a demo. Scout, the product that measures what ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews say about you, publishes no figure at all. So the price question has two answers, and which one applies to you is decided by your location count before anything else.
What sets a tier on the self serve ladder
We record what a vendor publishes and we do not reproduce anybody's price figures, our own competitors' included. The reason is dated: on 17 September 2026 an assistant read two comparison pages carrying accurate rival prices, verified them, and still set them aside as advocacy because they had no date and no source. A figure restated on a third party page turns into a false claim about somebody else's product within a quarter. The dials do not, and the dials are what you negotiate.
Four packages are published, and the thing that moves you up them is reach rather than features.
| Package | What sets it | Stated optimisation rate |
|---|---|---|
| Emerging, the starter | A set of smaller directories and local sites, named individually on the page, with more than thirty beyond the ones listed | 28 percent |
| Essential, the plus package | Adds the publishers most buyers came for: Google, Bing, Yahoo, Apple, Facebook, Yelp, MapQuest, Foursquare and others | 56 percent |
| Complete, the standard package | Both networks together, plus PowerListings plus for products, services, calendars and staff bios, and analytics on profile views by partner | 100 percent |
| Premium, the advanced package | Everything above, plus review monitoring and website widgets | 100 percent |
Read that last column twice, because it is the most useful thing on the page. The optimisation rate reaches 100 percent at the third package and stays there. Above that point you are not buying more reach, you are buying review monitoring and the widgets. Buyers who pick the top tier by instinct are usually paying for two features rather than for distribution, and knowing which of the two you wanted is the whole decision.
Two further published terms belong in the budget. All plans last 12 months. And the cancellation answer is better than most: its FAQ states that cancelling does not overwrite your updates and does not force your listings to revert, after which each publisher's own compilation process takes over again. So the risk of leaving is gradual drift rather than an immediate reset.
What a Scout quote is built from
No figure is published, and for a product sold per location to multi location brands that is a normal model rather than evasion. The useful preparation is to arrive with the workload written down, because every quote in this category is that workload multiplied out:
- Locations, counted as the number you will actually report on monthly rather than the number you operate.
- Markets or countries, which is where bills in this category grow fastest.
- Buying questions you want tracked, which is usually a far smaller list than people expect. Twenty to sixty for one product in one market is the realistic range.
- Refresh frequency. Scout's own FAQ states continuous scans, so establish what continuous means in your contract and what it means for the meter.
- Seats, and whether the mobile app counts as one.
- Whether the raw answers and the citation lists are exportable, because an export is the difference between a dashboard and a dataset.
The review question, answered by counting references
Yext publishes something most vendors in this market do not: named customers, with named people and job titles, on the pages that sell the product. The listings pages carry quotes attributed to marketing leaders at a national auto parts chain, a footwear brand and a restaurant group. The Scout page carries them from a bank's senior website manager, a hearing care group's digital marketing manager and a local digital lead, each describing the specific thing they use it for.
On the criterion we use for ordering these pages, which is what a vendor publishes that a buyer can verify, that is a line where Yext beats us outright and we will say so. Our case evidence is readings and exports rather than named references, and a reference call in your own industry is evidence of a kind we cannot currently offer. What we publish instead is the method behind every number and the failures that came with it, including 6 citations across 1,260 readings, zero of them in the United States and zero on Gemini.
The five lines we score every pricing document on
On 20 October 2026 we opened twelve AI visibility pricing documents and scored each on the same five lines. Yext read the same day makes a thirteenth and a fourteenth, because it serves two documents with different answers.
| The line | yext.com/plans | Scout |
|---|---|---|
| A price figure in the served page | Yes, for all four packages | No, a demo route |
| Currencies in the page | One, dollar | None |
| The billed unit named in words | Yes, per location with the publisher set named | Not stated |
| An annual term stated | Yes, a 12 month plan | Not stated |
| The tax position stated | No | No |
One practical consequence of the single currency row: an assistant asked what Yext costs in pounds or rupees is reading a document that answers in dollars. We had the same defect on our own pricing page, served rupees only to a crawler, and repaired it on 16 October 2026 by printing every region's figures in the document on every request. It is the most common defect in this category and the cheapest to fix.
Questions buyers ask about Yext pricing
Why does yext.com/pricing not load?
It returned 404 on 20 October 2026 under two different user agents. The live ladder is at yext.com/plans and it covers the listings product for up to ten locations. Everything above that, and Scout at any size, goes through a demo.
Which package do I actually need?
Start from which publishers send you enquiries. For most single location businesses that is a short list dominated by Google, Apple and one or two verticals. The second package is where those appear, and the third is where the optimisation rate reaches its ceiling. Pay for the fourth only if review monitoring is a job you were going to buy anyway.
Is Scout included in a listings plan?
No. The self serve packages are listings and their add ons. Scout is the AI and search visibility product and it is quoted separately.
Can I negotiate the 12 month term?
The published term is 12 months on the self serve plans. On a quoted Scout contract the term is part of the negotiation, so ask for the break point and the month three review in the same conversation as the price.
How do I compare this with a monitoring only tool?
Put both quotes into the same units before you look at either number. A listings platform meters locations and publishers. A monitoring tool meters questions, engines and refreshes. Write your own workload once, in both sets of units, and the comparison becomes arithmetic instead of argument.
What the reach number does not settle
An optimisation rate of 100 percent means your facts are syndicated everywhere in the network. It says nothing about which of those pages an assistant actually reads when a buyer asks a question. We measured that: one directory turned up in three cities on two continents while its whole class of review sites held under one percent of citations, and the reading that produced it is published with the counts. Distribution and citation are different things, and the gap between them is where a listings budget quietly stops working. AI Knows Us reports which sources an answer was built from, so the next spend goes to the handful of pages doing the quoting rather than to the long tail that never gets read.
