Best AI visibility tool for a consultancy, ranked on whether your practices need separate projects or sub brand tracking inside one
A four practice firm looks like four brands to an assistant. Two vendors answer that with a project count you pay for and one answers it with sub brand tracking included on every tier, and those are different purchases.

A consultancy buying an AI visibility tool has one structural question to settle first, and it is not the prompt count. Your firm sells several named practices, and a buyer asking an assistant for help does not ask for your firm, they ask for the practice: a supply chain diagnostic, a Workday implementation partner, an ESG reporting adviser. Whether a tool treats those as four brands or as four sub brands of one decides which tier you need, and the answer runs from free to several hundred dollars a month depending on which mechanism you pick.
Read on 31 October 2026, here is what each vendor publishes for the cheapest tier you can buy without a sales call.
Separate containers, as published
| Vendor | Cheapest buyable tier | Separate brand containers at that tier | Next step up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rankscale | Essentials, $20 a month, yearly only at $17 | 2 brand dashboard slots, extras addable in the app | 10 on Pro at $99, 25 on Pro+ at $229, 50 on Growth at $385 |
| OtterlyAI | Lite, $29 a month | 1 workspace | Unlimited workspaces on Standard at $189 |
| Peec AI | Starter, $95 a month | 1 project, and sub brand tracking published as included | 2 projects on Pro at $245, 5 on Advanced at $495 |
| Depra AI | Starter, Rs 1,999 plus GST | 1 project | 2 on Growth, 5 pooled on Scale, 10 pooled on Enterprise |
| Scrunch AI | Core, $250 a month | 1 brand workspace | Custom, at Enterprise |
| Semrush | AI Visibility Base, $99 per domain, billed annually | 1 domain for Brand Performance | 15 websites to monitor on Pro+ at $299 |
| Profound | Trial, free | Projects published as shared spaces for teammates rather than as a brand count | Custom, at Enterprise |
On that criterion Rankscale wins at both ends. Two containers for $20 a month on an annual term covers a two practice firm, and ten for $99 covers almost any consultancy under a hundred people. OtterlyAI wins if you need more than ten, because unlimited workspaces at $189 has no equivalent count to run out of.
The mechanism most consultancies actually need
Separate projects are the right answer when the practices have separate websites, separate names and separate competitor sets. Most consultancies are not in that position. One firm, one domain, several service lines, and the question is whether the engines name the firm when somebody asks about each line.
For that shape, Peec publishes the specific mechanism: sub brand tracking, listed as included in its prompt management section, alongside topics, tags and categories, personas, bulk import and brand classification which labels each prompt branded or non branded. It also publishes intent classification, which labels each prompt informational, commercial or transactional, and that is the single most useful field for a consultancy, because the partner who wants to know whether the firm is named at the moment of hiring is asking about the transactional subset and nothing else.
Rankscale's published equivalent is topics and tags inside a brand dashboard, with search terms unlimited and execution paid in credits, so one dashboard can hold every practice's questions and you group them. Depra publishes 120 prompt slots pooled across 5 client projects on Scale with prompts movable between clients freely, which is built for an agency and works just as well for a firm whose practices grow at different rates.
So the honest ranking depends on one answer: if your practices share a domain, you need tags, sub brand tracking and intent labels inside one container, and Peec and Rankscale both publish those. If your practices are separately branded, you need containers, and Rankscale and OtterlyAI publish the most for the money.
The question count, once the structure is right
A consultancy's list is longer than it looks, because each practice has a buyer, a problem and a geography. Published allowances on the tiers above, same date: Rankscale sells credits, 120 on Essentials and 1,200 on Pro, converting in its own table to 480 and 4,800 answers, with scheduling from hourly to monthly and credit rollover of up to two and up to three times. OtterlyAI publishes 15, 100 and 400 prompts with daily tracking and 100 extra prompts at $99. Peec publishes 50, 150 and 350 prompts with 3 active models and a published monthly answer count of 4,500, 13,500 and 31,500. Depra publishes 16, 70, 120 pooled and 300 pooled slots against 2,000, 8,700, 15,000 and 37,500 successful checks.
Rankscale's uneven scheduling is worth a second look here. A firm's flagship practice justifies daily checks and its two emerging practices do not, and Rankscale is the only vendor in this set publishing hourly to monthly on a shared pool, which is exactly that shape.
What a consultancy's own buyers ask about the tool
Professional services firms sell to clients who ask about data handling, so you will be asked where your competitive intelligence sits. Published answers, same date: Profound names SSO and SAML with SOC 2 compliance at Enterprise. Scrunch publishes Google single sign on at Core and SAML or OIDC at Enterprise, which is the strongest self serve answer in the set. Peec and OtterlyAI put single sign on at Enterprise, Rankscale on its unpriced Custom plan. Ahrefs publishes SSO, access management, an audit log and a stated no training on your data at $1,499 with an annual commitment. Depra publishes an option to run the product on your own server at Enterprise.
Where we rank on this page's criterion
We sell in this category and on containers we are behind. Read on 31 October 2026 our pricing page publishes Businesses covered as 1 on every plan except the agency plan, which publishes 10, and its agency calculator prints 10 brands, 800 questions, 80 pages a month and 9,200 AI answers read at $739 a month on its default setting. A three practice firm that wants three separate containers gets those from Rankscale Pro at $99 with ten slots, and from OtterlyAI Standard at $189 with unlimited workspaces, both of which are cheaper than our agency route. On this page's stated criterion those two rank above us and we are not going to score it any other way.
We also publish Logins included, 1, full access, which is a poor fit for a partnership where each practice lead wants the report, and no single sign on at any tier. Where our page is ahead is the engine set and the production: all five of ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews on the GEO plans with Claude at a published 3 credits a check against 1, GEO Growth at $299 or Rs 11,799 with 100 buyer questions and 20 pages a month written and published, and GEO Scale at $599 with 300 questions, 40 pages and a Visibility API. For a firm whose practices have no page answering the buying question at all, that is the half a monitor cannot do.
Before buying anything, read what the engines currently do with a specialist firm's question in our page on how a data analytics consultancy gets recommended by AI. If you are buying this to resell to clients rather than for your own practices, the published criteria are different and our page on the best AI visibility tool for an agency reselling it to clients covers that instead.
Questions a consulting firm asks before buying one of these
Do I need one project per practice
Only if the practices have separate domains, names and competitor sets. If they share a domain, use one container with tags, and Peec publishes sub brand tracking and intent classification as included on every tier for exactly that case.
Which tool gives the most separate containers for the money
Rankscale on published figures, at 2 slots for $20 a month sold yearly, 10 for $99 and 25 for $229, with extra slots addable in the app. OtterlyAI Standard at $189 publishes unlimited workspaces, which is the better answer above roughly twenty five practices or clients.
Can I watch different practices at different frequencies
Rankscale publishes scheduling from hourly to monthly against a shared credit pool, with rollover, so yes there. The others publish a single tracking frequency per plan, daily in most cases, so the allowance is sized to the whole set.
Which published field tells me whether we are named at the hiring moment
Peec's intent classification, which labels each tracked prompt informational, commercial or transactional, and its brand classification, which labels each prompt branded or non branded. Scrunch publishes funnel stages on Core, which answers the same question in a different shape.
How many questions does a four practice firm need watched
Write one question per practice per buyer per market and count them. Four practices, two buyer types and two markets is sixteen, which fits Depra Starter at 16 slots and sits inside every other entry tier listed here. Firms usually find the real number is three to five times their first guess.
Does any vendor publish something for the people side of a consultancy
Not specifically, and the nearest published thing is competitor tracking and source classification, which at Peec sorts each cited source into categories such as competitor, editorial, reference or user generated. For a firm whose named partners are the brand, the useful setting is tracking the partner names as brand variations, which OtterlyAI publishes as brand variation tracking on every tier.
How we know this
We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.
That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.
Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
