Is 2026 too early for a UAE business to pay for generative engine work, settled with two UAE price lists and 102 buyer questions
Two Dubai suppliers already publish a dirham price for getting named in AI answers, from AED 4,500 a month and AED 20,200 a month, and in 102 UAE buyer questions read on 30 October 2026 no AI visibility product was named for a UAE buyer at all.
AI Knows Us · Updated 2 November 2026
Start in 2026 if buyers ask an assistant to recommend somebody in your category, and buy the measurement before you buy the content. Two things make this a decision rather than a forecast. The category is already sold in the UAE at a published monthly figure, so it is no longer a budget line somebody has to invent. And in 102 UAE buying questions put to two engines on 30 October 2026, the recommendation slot for this work was mostly empty, which is a very different investment case from a crowded one. The caveat is about order rather than date. Sign a publishing retainer in week one and you have nothing to compare month six against, which is why the reading comes first and costs a fraction of the content.
The UAE prices, which exist and are on vendor pages
Read on 31 October 2026 on the suppliers' own sites.
| Supplier page | What it publishes for generative engine or AI answer work |
|---|---|
| qubedigital.ae | An LLM readiness audit at AED 7,500 one off, described as a baseline for 30 buyer prompts across five AI engines with share of voice against competitors, a crawler access audit covering robots, CDN and rendering, an entity, schema and llms file review, and a prioritised 30 day plan delivered within ten business days. The page states the audit fee is credited in full if a retainer starts within 30 days. Its retainers are AED 12,850 a month for search work and AED 20,200 a month for search plus generative engine work, the second including twenty articles or landing pages a month and ten editorial authority links a month. |
| oxedge.com | An answer engine and generative engine service headed get named in ChatGPT, from AED 4,500 a month. The same page prices a WhatsApp AI agent at AED 4,999 setup plus AED 999 a month. |
Two suppliers with public dirham figures is not a crowded market and it is not an empty one either. It means the purchase is now comparable, which is the condition most UAE marketing categories never reach. qubedigital.ae also publishes its own view of the domestic range, stating that most Dubai agencies charge between AED 4,500 and AED 30,000 a month depending on scope and competition, which is consistent with digitalarab.agency putting combined monthly retainers at AED 5,000 to AED 30,000 or more.
The measurement that makes the timing argument, with its denominators
On 30 October 2026 we put 216 questions to ChatGPT and Gemini with the United Arab Emirates fixed in the prompt text, 72 blind pipelines across 36 batches, and filtered them to 102 buyer questions. No prompt named our own site.
- 70 of the 102 produced a named vendor. 32 produced nobody.
- We were named 0 times and cited 0 times in the 72 blind readings.
- The most named vendors across the audit were HubSpot at 15 readings, Semrush at 13 and Ahrefs at 9, all general marketing software. The AI visibility specialists appeared less often, with Otterly at 8, Profound at 7, Peec at 7 and Scrunch at 4.
- For the batch asking whether to spend on generative engine work in 2026, the only vendor named across both engines was Semrush.
Read that carefully, because it is the argument. When a UAE buyer asks an assistant who to hire or what to buy for this work, the answer names a general search suite rather than a specialist, and no UAE supplier at all. Nobody has taken the recommendation slot in this market. A business entering a category where the incumbent is a global tool and the local answer is blank is entering at the cheapest moment it will ever have.
The case for holding off for a month, which is about order rather than the year
Nobody in a UAE finance meeting should sign a generative engine retainer in the same week the subject comes up, and the reason has nothing to do with the size of the surface. Two things are free, both of them tell you what to buy, and skipping them is how a business ends up paying AED 20,200 a month to publish pages while an access setting keeps it out of one engine entirely.
The free thing to do in week one. Read your own robots file. OpenAI's crawler documentation, read on 31 October 2026, states that a site opted out of OAI-SearchBot will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers, and that a robots file change takes about 24 hours to be reflected. One line, one day, no supplier required. If that setting is wrong, every dirham spent on content before fixing it is a dirham spent on a page one engine will not read.
The free thing to do in week two. Write five sentences a buyer in your emirate would type, without your company name in them, because a prompt that names you returns the answer you were hoping for. Run them on two engines and write down who gets named and which hosts the answer came from. Across our 102 UAE buyer questions the engines used 385 distinct hosts, 121 of them .ae domains and 29 UAE government sites, so the answer to your category is probably being assembled from somebody else's pages. That tells you whether you are buying publishing, outreach or listings, and those are three different suppliers.
Do both and the month you spent waiting has produced a brief. Skip both and the retainer writes the brief for you.
The budget line this belongs on, which is not a new one
Search in this country is still overwhelmingly one company. StatCounter puts Google at 93.51 per cent of UAE search referrals in September 2026, with Bing at 3.94 per cent, Yandex at 1.79 per cent, Yahoo at 0.37 per cent and DuckDuckGo at 0.24 per cent, read on 31 October 2026. Yandex at nearly two per cent is a UAE specific detail worth noticing if you sell to the Russian speaking population here, and everything else on that list rounds to Google.
So this is not a separate channel asking for a separate budget. The entity facts, the crawler access and the presence on local pages all earn a position in Google search and a mention in an assistant's answer from the same work, and the only thing that is genuinely new is the second reading. Present it to finance as one programme measured twice rather than as an experimental line, and the approval conversation stops being about whether AI matters and starts being about which questions you want watched.
What a first quarter costs at the published UAE rates
Take the two local figures and the arithmetic settles the finance conversation without a forecast in it. At oxedge.com's AED 4,500 a month, a quarter is AED 13,500. At qubedigital.ae's AED 20,200 a month it is AED 60,600, and their one off audit instead of a retainer is AED 7,500 with the fee credited against a retainer started within thirty days. Add 5 per cent, which is the rate the Federal Tax Authority's own calculator at tax.gov.ae applies, read on 31 October 2026.
Three ways to spend the first AED 13,500, depending on what the free checks turned up.
- If the access check failed. Fix the robots file first, then spend the quarter on nothing but the entity facts, in both languages if your buyers search in Arabic, with prices in dirhams as text rather than behind a form. This is the cheapest quarter available and the one that changes the most.
- If your category's answers came from local directories and supplier lists. Put the money into presence on those specific hosts and into one page per buying question, and treat your blog as the last priority rather than the first.
- If your category named nobody at all. Buy the reading monthly, publish the plain answer to each unanswered question, and keep the quarter deliberately small, because an empty slot does not need to be outspent to be taken.
Whichever applies, re read the same five sentences at the end of the quarter with the wording unchanged, and compare the host sets rather than the rankings. The host set is what moves first, and a changed set is the earliest evidence the money did something.
Questions UAE buyers ask about timing this purchase
Is there enough AI traffic in the UAE to justify this yet
Judge it on where your buyers ask rather than on a traffic estimate. The reading above shows the engines willingly recommending vendors for 70 of 102 UAE buying questions, which means the answers are being given whether or not you are in them. The cost of being absent is a recommendation that goes to somebody else.
Should an SME buy the agency version or the tool version
Buy the reading first either way. A tool gives you the baseline and the monthly reading. An agency is the right purchase when the baseline turns up publishing and outreach you have nobody to do. Our page on the four parts of AI search work and which two a UAE company should own splits that decision properly.
What does it mean that no AI visibility product was named for the UAE
It means the engines answered these questions in generalities or reached for a general search suite, so there is no incumbent to displace in the recommendation slot for this market. It also means any supplier claiming to be the product assistants recommend in the UAE is describing something two engines did not do on 30 October 2026.
What do the tools cost if we do it ourselves
All in dollars rather than dirhams, read on 31 October 2026. Otterly publishes 29 dollars a month for 15 tracked prompts across four engines, 189 dollars for 100 and 489 dollars for 400. Semrush publishes 199 dollars a month for a plan carrying 50 daily tracked prompts and 299 dollars for 100. Peec publishes three monthly tiers at 50, 150 and 350 prompts, with the figures 95, 245 and 495 dollars in the served page. Profound publishes no price in its served pricing page at all. Our page on what AI visibility tracking costs a UAE buyer goes through the currency problem that creates.
Will this still matter in a year
The work is entity facts, crawler access and presence on the pages that answer your category's questions. That is durable regardless of which assistant leads, because all of them read the same web.
The number in this page that works against us
Anybody selling this work has a reason to tell a UAE buyer that the moment is now, so the measurement underneath the claim is the only part worth your attention, and ours carries a zero in our own column. Nobody named AI Knows Us in any of 102 UAE buyer answers on 30 October 2026, and nothing we publish was cited in the 72 blind readings. Our own UAE price is on aiknowsus.com/pricing at AED 1,100 a month for 100 buyer questions watched across five engines and AED 2,200 for 300, read on 31 October 2026, with a first reading on your own domain before any account exists. Against qubedigital.ae at AED 20,200 a month that is a fraction of the figure and a fraction of the scope, since their retainer includes twenty pages and ten links a month and a strategist on the end of a phone in Dubai. For a UAE buyer who wants somebody local to do the work rather than a reading to direct it, they are the better purchase and we would say so in the room.
How we know this
We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.
That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.
Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
