Scrunch AI vs Semrush, five user licences in the price against one plus 45 dollars a head
At broadly the same monthly figure Scrunch publishes 5 licences on its only self serve plan and Semrush publishes 1 included user with Additional Users from 45 dollars. The deeper split is whether the work happens on your own site or in somebody's index.

Count the people before you count the prompts. Read on 31 October 2026, www.scrunchai.com/pricing publishes one self serve plan, Core at $250 a month, and its feature table includes 5 user licences. On the same day www.semrush.com/pricing publishes Pro+ at $299 a month, or $248.17 billed annually, and its add on panel publishes Additional Users starting at $45 a month, with every plan on the ladder including one user. Four colleagues on the Semrush plan is $299 plus $180 by our arithmetic on those published figures, which is $479 a month against Scrunch's $250 with five licences in it.
That is not the whole decision, because these two are not really selling the same thing. It is the line most buyers find out about last, so it goes first.

Two different bets about where the work happens
Scrunch's product set splits into Agent Experience and Monitoring and Insights, and it is the only vendor in this pair that publishes anything in the first half. Agent Pages is described as delivering an optimised experience to AI agents, Agent Traffic as analysing AI website traffic, and Site Optimization as improving how AI consumes your site, with an Agent Experience Platform, product observability and full site audits at Enterprise. The bet is that being named is downstream of what an AI crawler finds when it arrives on your pages.
Semrush's bet is the index. Its AI visibility numbers sit inside a platform built on keyword, traffic and backlink data, with prompt research, competitor research and an AI visibility overview published on its AI tab, and its menu names an AI Visibility Index as a research product. The bet is that being named is downstream of ranking and of what the wider web says about you.
Both are defensible, and a buyer only needs to answer one question to pick: do you already know what your pages look like to a crawler, or do you already know how you rank. Buy the half you do not have.
Where each one gets constrained
Scrunch Core is constrained on breadth and it publishes the constraints clearly: Countries 1, Personas 1, Languages 1, Competitors 5, AI Search Trends 3 topics, site map 25 pages, and no Looker Studio, Query API, advanced API or MCP, all of which its table marks as Enterprise. The 25 page site map figure is worth holding against your own page count before you assume the audit covers your site.
Semrush is constrained on who and on how the AI part is sold. The AI Visibility Base plan is $99 a month per domain and billed annually, so a second brand is a second subscription and the commitment is a year. On the SEO and AI Search ladder the prompt allowance is 50 on Starter, 100 on Pro+ and unlimited only on Advanced, which is custom. And every reader beyond the first is a published add on.
Which to buy
- Several people need access and the budget is fixed. Scrunch Core, on 5 licences in the published price.
- You want the keyword and traffic data in the same product. Semrush, and the Pro+ tier is where the AI prompt count doubles to 100 alongside 1,500 keywords.
- You want to know what AI crawlers do on your site. Scrunch, which publishes AI agent and bot traffic on Core, and read the Enterprise rows if you need the full agent platform.
- More than one country or language. Semrush, because Scrunch publishes 1 of each on the only plan you can buy off the page.
- Single sign on on a self serve plan. Scrunch, which publishes Google SSO at Core. Semrush does not publish SSO on either pricing tab.
The ownership change, since one of these is now part of a larger company
Semrush is part of Adobe. The headline Adobe Completes Semrush Acquisition sits on investors.semrush.com/news-releases, read on 31 October 2026, alongside a release headed Introducing Adobe Brand Visibility, described as bringing Semrush data together with Adobe's agentic tools in one workflow, and a customer FAQ about the acquisition. With the AI Visibility plan billed annually, that FAQ is the right thing to read before committing a year, and it cuts both ways: an existing Adobe customer has a consolidation argument, and a buyer who wants a specialist has a reason to look at Scrunch instead.
What we publish on the two lines this page turns on
We sell in this category, so the same two tests apply to us and we fail one of them. On people, our pricing page read on 31 October 2026 publishes Logins included, 1, full access. Scrunch publishes five and Semrush will sell you more, so on the specific question that opened this page we are behind both, and the stated reasoning on our own page, that our cost is asking AI and writing rather than headcount and that the tracking log exports any time, is an explanation rather than a fix. We also publish no single sign on at any tier, where Scrunch publishes Google SSO on its $250 plan.
On engines we are ahead of both published sets, with ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews on GEO Growth at $299 a month, or Rs 11,799, for 100 buyer questions and 1,200 scheduled answers, and Claude priced in the open at 3 credits a check against 1. Our plans also include 20 pages a month written and published on Growth and 40 on Scale, which is the half of the work neither of these two sells. Our checks run weekly on priority questions with 30 and 90 day cycles on the rest, which is slower than Semrush's daily prompt tracking.
If the Semrush side of this is really a question about whether the free tier is enough to start, our page on a free alternative to Semrush and the ten reports a day that decide whether free is enough works through that limit.
Questions about licences, countries and what each plan includes
How many people can use each plan
Scrunch Core publishes 5 user licences. Semrush publishes 1 user included on its plans, with Additional Users starting at $45 a month. Four extra readers on Semrush is $180 a month by our arithmetic on those two published figures.
Does Scrunch cover more than one country
Not on Core. Its own table sets Countries, Personas and Languages to 1 there, with Unlimited or Custom at Enterprise. Semrush publishes multi location and device tracking from Pro+.
Which has more AI surfaces
On the self serve plans they are close, four each, and the named sets differ: Scrunch publishes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AIO and Copilot, and Semrush names ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity on its AI Visibility plan. Scrunch Enterprise publishes 9, adding Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok.
Is there a cheaper way into either product
Semrush publishes a free plan at $0 with 1 demo project and 10 reports a day across all vital tools, and a $99 a month AI Visibility Base plan billed annually. Scrunch publishes a 7 day free trial and no tier below $250.
Which one should an agency pick
Neither self serve plan is built for it. Scrunch publishes 1 brand workspace on Core and routes agencies to an Enterprise quote through a dedicated use case page. Semrush's agency route is the suite plus the Pro Report add on at $20 a month for branding and white labelling, plus a Lead Generation add on at $90 a month for a profile on its partner platform, plus users at $45 each.
Does either publish how AI crawlers behave on my site
Scrunch does, as AI Agent and Bot Traffic on Core with multi domain tracking available, and as a full agent platform at Enterprise. Semrush publishes an AI ready site audit rather than a crawler traffic product on these tabs.
How we know this
We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.
That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.
Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
