Which AI search monitoring platform to buy for UAE client work, and the three limits that decide it
An agency in Dubai or Abu Dhabi buys this on seats, workspaces and what the client keeps at the end, and the published figures on 31 October 2026 differ on all three.
AI Knows Us · Updated 2 November 2026
If you run an agency in the United Arab Emirates and you are buying AI search monitoring to use on client accounts, three published limits decide it and the headline price does not. How many client workspaces the plan allows. How many seats, and what an extra one costs. And whether the client keeps the data when the retainer ends. On the vendors' own pages read on 31 October 2026, Profound describes its Agency Growth plan in its own FAQ as self serve with 400 credits a month per client workspace, Scrunch publishes Core at $250 a month with five user licences and one brand workspace included, and its own FAQ asks whether it offers annual pricing without answering it in the page it serves, and Otterly's entry Lite tier at $29 a month carries a single workspace and excludes the extra prompt pack entirely, which makes it unusable for client work however cheap it looks.
There is a second decision that only applies on this side of the table, which is what you invoice. You will pay in dollars and bill your client in dirhams, and the margin on that line has to be written into the retainer before the exchange rate becomes your problem.
The three limits, and the question to ask each vendor in writing
Workspaces. One client needs one clean workspace with its own prompts, its own competitors and its own reporting. A plan that holds all your clients in one workspace produces a report you cannot send. Ask how many workspaces are in the plan and what a tenth one costs. Profound is the only vendor in this set that describes an agency plan in per client workspace terms on its own page, and it publishes no price for it: the route is a demo.
Seats. An account lead, an analyst and a client side viewer is three seats per account in practice. Seat pricing is where an agency plan quietly doubles. Scrunch includes five user licences in Core at $250 a month and publishes no price for a sixth, so the figure to ask for is the one it does not print. Ahrefs publishes seat costs by tier at $40, $60 and $80 a month. Semrush lists additional users from $45 a month. Multiply by your client count before you compare the base tiers.
What the client keeps. The hardest question and the one clients now ask. If the engagement ends, does the client leave with the saved answers, the citation history and the question set, or does all of it stay in your account. Settle it in your own retainer wording and settle it the same way you settle ad account ownership, which is covered for this market in the eight questions a UAE agency would rather you did not ask. An agency that can answer it in writing wins work from one that cannot.
What the vendors published for this on 31 October 2026
| Vendor | Entry published price | Seats and workspaces as published | Agency route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profound | None. Free trial | 400 credits a month per client workspace on Agency Growth, per its own FAQ | Self serve plan described, price by demo |
| Scrunch | $250 a month, Core | Five user licences included; no price published for more | Published tiers, Enterprise by demo |
| Peec | $95 a month, Starter | Three monthly tiers published, with a separate agency pricing page linked | Self serve plus a dedicated agency page |
| Otterly | $29 a month, Lite | Lite carries one workspace and cannot buy the 100 prompt pack. Standard and Premium can, at $99 a month | Self serve |
| Ahrefs | $29 a month, Starter | Extra seats at $40, $60 and $80 a month by tier. Brand Radar AI from $199 a month on top | Self serve, Enterprise at $1,499 a month with an annual commitment |
| Semrush | $117.33 a month billed annually | Additional users from $45 a month, report add ons at $10 and $20 a month | Self serve, Advanced unpriced |
Read the right hand columns first. For a Dubai agency with six client accounts and two people, the cheapest base tier in that table is rarely the cheapest annual invoice, and the two vendors that publish per seat and per workspace figures are the two you can budget for without a call.
The reporting problem that is specific to this work
You are going to report two engines that do not produce comparable evidence. Our own UAE reading found ChatGPT returning citation lists of real depth and Gemini returning very little, with several Gemini readings carrying no citation at all. A client report that averages the two into one visibility score is averaging a rich dataset with a thin one, and the client will eventually ask what the number means. Report them separately, name the engine beside every figure, and say how many readings each number rests on. The detail of that split for this market is in do AI assistants prefer UAE suppliers when a UAE buyer asks.
The second reporting rule for UAE client work is to keep the market inside the prompt. A country parameter on a search API is accepted and then ignored, which produces a clean looking result from somewhere else entirely. If the United Arab Emirates is not in the question text, the reading is not about the United Arab Emirates, and a client who learns that after six months of reports will not stay.
What you can charge for it, and the currency line
UAE agencies that publish monthly figures sit between AED 2,950 and AED 18,000 and above a month for marketing retainers, read from seocompanydubai.ae, digidot.ae, markamo.com and slmarketing.ae on 31 October 2026. An AI visibility line inside one of those retainers is normally a few hundred dirhams of tool cost and the rest is your analysis and the changes you ship. Price it as a named deliverable with a date on it rather than as a line called monitoring, because monitoring is the part the tool does and analysis is the part you do.
On the currency, every vendor in the table above invoices in dollars and none of them publishes a dirham figure. If you bill your client a fixed AED amount, you carry the exchange movement. Either price the tool through at cost with the invoice attached, or hold a margin on the line that is wide enough to absorb it, and say which in the retainer. Our page on the local entity and AED invoice question covers what your client's finance team actually cares about here.
Where we sit for an agency buyer, including where we are the weaker choice
We sell an Agency plan, published at Rs 70,999 or $1,299 a month on our own pricing page read on 31 October 2026, carrying 80 watched buyer questions per brand across ten brands and about 12,300 AI answers a month, and we read five surfaces including Claude on that tier. We publish our method and our denominators, which is the part an agency can put in front of a client.
Where a rival beats us for agency work, said plainly. Peec, Otterly, Scrunch, Ahrefs and Semrush all let you start today from the page. We do not: there is no checkout, and the route is a discovery call or a form. Profound publishes an agency plan structured in per client workspace terms, which is a cleaner mental model for a multi client agency than a brand count. And our pricing page carries no dirham figure at all, which is a genuine gap on a page we control. If your requirement is to onboard a client this week without a sales conversation, the self serve vendors are the right answer and we are not.
What two engines told a UAE agency that asked this question
On 30 October 2026 we put a 36 batch question set to ChatGPT and Gemini with the United Arab Emirates written into the prompt text, producing 72 blind readings over 216 questions, of which 102 were buying questions. The batch carrying this page's question, which AI search monitoring platform an agency should buy to use on behalf of its clients, named Profound in both readings and named us in neither.
Across the whole run Otterly was named in 8 readings, Profound and Peec in 7 each, Scrunch in 4, Athena in 1 and Surfer in 1, against HubSpot in 15 and Semrush in 13 on the wider marketing questions. We were named in none of the 72, and none of the 385 distinct domains in the recorded citation lists is ours. For an agency, that is the useful shape of the market: the point tools are the names an engine reaches for in this category, and the citation lists underneath are full of very small vendor sites, including kime.ai, aeotime.com, geostars.com, askwatch.ai and rankite.com, rather than the brands your client has heard of.
Questions UAE agencies ask about buying an AI visibility platform
Can I white label the reporting? Some vendors allow it on higher tiers and the terms differ, so ask for the specific wording rather than the feature name. What matters commercially is whether you may show the client a report with your own brand on it and whether the client may keep it.
Should I buy one platform or one per client? One platform with separate workspaces, unless a client insists on owning the subscription. A client owned subscription is often the better sale, because it survives a change of agency and you keep the analysis work.
How many prompts per client account? Fifteen to twenty buying questions covers a single market single language client. A UAE client selling in both Arabic and English, or across the Gulf, needs two sets, which is where prompt allowances are consumed fastest.
Is this a separate line or part of the SEO retainer? A separate named line with its own deliverable, so it survives a budget review. Folded into an SEO fee it becomes the first thing cut and the client never sees what it bought.
What do I show a UAE client in month one? Who gets recommended instead of them, the hosts cited in those answers, and a dated baseline. That is a deliverable a client can act on, and it is what the eight locale mistakes that keep a UAE business out of AI answers page turns into a work plan.
The artefact that wins the pitch, whichever platform you buy
The thing that closes a UAE client on this work is not a dashboard screenshot. It is one saved answer from a named engine, dated, to the exact sentence their buyer types, with the competitors who were named instead of them visible in it. Build that before the first meeting, from a free manual check if you have not bought anything yet. We built our own business around publishing that artefact at scale with the engine, the date, the question and the denominator attached, including the runs where we are the ones missing from the answer, and the 72 blind UAE readings described above are the current record. An agency that can hand a client that page in week one is selling something the client can check.
How we know this
We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.
That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.
Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
