Advertising companies for a Singapore small business, and the grant percentage one of them has wrong
Published Singapore monthly figures read on 29 October 2026, the enquiry form whose lowest budget band is three times a supplier's own recommendation for a small shop, and the government page that states a higher SME rate than a vendor does.

Before you compare advertising companies, find out which ones will take an account your size. That single check saves more money than any negotiation, because a supplier's intake form tells you its floor for free. Read on 29 October 2026, one Singapore performance agency's own enquiry form offers budget bands starting at $3,000 to $5,000 a month and running up past $100,000, while another Singapore agency's own cost guide, read the same day, recommends about $1,000 a month for a small cafe and puts paid social management at from $800 a month excluding ad spend. Both are legitimate businesses. They simply do not serve the same buyer, and nothing on either homepage says so in a sentence.
This page gives the published Singapore figures with the page and the date on each, the four kinds of company that call themselves advertising suppliers here, the grant percentage one vendor page has understated for SMEs, and what to do if your budget sits below every floor in the market. Google Keyword Planner reports 10 searches a month in Singapore for this group of phrasings, harvested on 26 October 2026 against geo 2702, read as the group maximum rather than the sum of its phrasings.
The published monthly figures, read on 29 October 2026
Impossible Marketing's own cost section at impossible.sg states a channel by channel breakdown in Singapore dollars, and it is one of very few in this market that does.
- Google Ads and search advertising management, from $1,000 a month excluding ad spend, stated on the page as the figure for small businesses.
- Paid social management, from $800 to $1,500 a month excluding ad spend, across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- Content marketing, from $1,000 to $2,000 a month, depending on type and frequency.
- Finance and legal services campaigns, which the page says may require $3,000 a month and above because of competition.
- Cost per click of $10 to $50 in competitive categories, which the page names as insurance, law and real estate.
The same page gives two worked examples. A local cafe with about $1,000 a month is pointed at Instagram and TikTok advertising for foot traffic. A corporate IT supplier with about $5,000 a month is pointed at LinkedIn advertising, search work and content together. Those two examples are the most useful lines on it, because they describe the shape of a budget rather than a product.
The floor nobody puts in a sentence
Now read an intake form. Heroes of Digital's own contact form, read on 29 October 2026, asks for a budget and offers six bands. The lowest is $3,000 to $5,000, then $5,000 to $10,000, then $10,000 to $30,000, then $30,000 to $50,000, then $50,000 to $100,000, then $100,000 and above. There is no band below $3,000.
That is not a criticism of the agency. It is the clearest possible statement of who it is built to serve, published where anybody can read it, and it is worth more to a small buyer than any page of positioning. Put the two readings side by side and the market sorts itself. A business with $1,000 a month to spend has a shortlist, and it does not include every firm with a nice homepage. Check the form first, every time, and treat the lowest band as the minimum ticket.
The grant figure to take into your budget, and whose number is whose
Here the two sources genuinely disagree, and the difference is money.
On oom.com.sg, read on 29 October 2026, the page states that eligible SMEs can offset a meaningful share of their digital marketing costs through pre approved solutions under the EDGE Grant, "which provides support of up to 50% of qualifying costs".
On the government's own page at enterprisesg.gov.sg, read the same day, the EDGE Grant page states "Receive up to 70% for SMEs" and "up to 50% for non-SMEs", adds that "Support levels differ by activity", and records that "EDG, MRA and PSG ceased on 29 September 2026".
So the up to 50% in the vendor sentence is the rate the government page attaches to non-SMEs, and an SME that budgeted from the vendor page alone would plan for half the support the scheme page says it may receive. Take the percentage from the agency that administers the scheme, read on the day you apply, and treat any vendor restatement as a pointer rather than a figure. The same rule disposes of a bigger problem in this market, which is Singapore supplier pages still selling pre approved packages under schemes the government says closed on 29 September 2026. If a quote's value depends on a scheme, open the government page before you sign.
What a free audit is worth, and what a stated value is
Nearly every supplier at this end offers something free. Read what the valuation is attached to. On firstpagedigital.sg, read on 29 October 2026, a complimentary strategy consultation covering an audit, competitor analysis, a growth strategy and projections is presented with a stated value of SGD 2,500 and a price of SGD 0, while the site's own service menus offer a free revenue growth strategy session described as valued at $4,200. Two stated values, on one site, read the same day, for sessions described in similar terms.
What to do with that as a buyer is simple and it is not cynical. A stated value is a marketing figure, so do not let it anchor what you expect to pay later. Take the session anyway. Ask for the audit findings in writing, ask which two things they would fix first and why, and keep the document. Three of those from three suppliers is the cheapest comparative research available to a small advertiser in this market, and it costs you three hours.
The four kinds of company, and which one takes a small account
- The performance agency. Search and paid social, a management fee plus your media. Takes you at its lowest band and not below it. Best fit once you can spend consistently for six months.
- The full service or creative shop. Strategy, production, media. Priced by project, usually a larger first commitment. Rarely the right first supplier for a small advertiser.
- The media agency. Billboards, press, radio, out of home. Works from rate cards and buys at scale, so a small advertiser is usually better served by a reseller or by buying direct.
- The individual. A consultant or freelancer who runs the accounts hands on. Usually the only route under a thousand dollars a month, and the free seat before the paid retainer is worked through in our page on hiring a marketing consultant for a startup in Singapore.
Cheap advertising that needs no company at all
If your budget is below every floor above, spend it on three things in this order and hire nobody yet.
- Finish the Google Business Profile and build a review habit. Correct category, real photographs, services written out, and one review request on the day each job finishes. This is free and it is the highest return hour a small Singapore business can spend.
- Run one self serve channel with a hard cap. One channel, one offer, one month, a daily budget you can switch off. Google sets no minimum spend and publishes its own daily and monthly limits, and the floors that actually bind a small Singapore advertiser are collected in our page on the smallest Google Ads budget worth running in Singapore. What each social platform bills, and which publish nothing, is in what Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok actually bill a Singapore advertiser.
- Write one page per thing you sell. Priced, specific, with your own figures on it. This is the asset every later advertising dollar lands on, and a campaign pointed at a vague homepage wastes a fixed share of every click.
Questions small Singapore businesses ask about advertising suppliers
What is the minimum budget a Singapore advertising company will accept
Read the intake form. One agency's lowest published band on 29 October 2026 was $3,000 to $5,000 a month, and another supplier's own guidance recommends about $1,000 a month for a small shop. There is no market wide minimum, so the answer is per supplier and it is published.
Is cheap advertising worth doing at all
Yes, with one condition. A small spend has to be measured, because it has no room for a wrong guess. One channel, one offer, one month, and a number you look at before you decide anything. An unmeasured $800 is worse value than a measured $400.
Does the management fee include the ad spend
Usually not, and every figure quoted above is explicitly excluding media. Insist on two lines in any proposal, fee and spend, and never accept one combined number. A supplier paid a percentage of spend and quoting one line has an interest you cannot see.
Can a grant still pay for my advertising in Singapore
Check the government page on the day. The schemes many vendor pages still advertise ceased on 29 September 2026 according to Enterprise Singapore's own EDGE Grant page, and the current support levels it states are up to 70% for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs, with levels differing by activity.
Should I take the free audit every agency offers
Take it, and take notes. Ask for the findings in writing and for the two things they would fix first. Ignore the stated dollar value attached to it, which is a marketing figure rather than a price, and in one case we read two different values on one site for sessions described in similar terms.
Which channel should a small Singapore business advertise on first
The one where your buyer is already looking for what you sell rather than being interrupted. For a trade or a service, that is usually search next to a complete business listing. For a food, retail or lifestyle brand, it is usually short video and images. The published Singapore examples above point the same way.
The advertising slot nobody is selling you
Every option on this page is bought. A fee, a media budget, a rate card, a cap you set. There is one route to a Singapore buyer now that has no fee and no auction attached to it, and that is the moment somebody asks an assistant who to use for what you sell and is read two or three names. No agency on any page we read today sells a placement in that answer, because there is nothing to buy. What decides it is what has been written down about your business and where. For a small advertiser that is a genuinely unusual situation, because for once the lever is not budget, and the business with $800 a month is in the same sentence as the one with $80,000. AI Knows Us takes a dated reading of what those answers say in your category and shows which pages each answer was built from, which is the cheapest piece of market research on this page and the one most likely to change where the next thousand dollars goes.
