Best influencer marketing agencies compared, ranked on what each firm publishes before the first call

Four different kinds of supplier answer this one search and they are not substitutes. Here is the criterion that survives a sales call, who passed it on 21 October 2026, and the one question none of them is being paid to answer.

"Influencer marketing agency" is a shopping phrase, not a product. Four kinds of supplier rank for it, they earn in four different ways, and the one you should hire depends on who owns the creator relationship when the campaign ends.

This page sorts the four, applies one criterion a buyer can check without booking a call, and names what each firm had published on its own site on 21 October 2026.

The four kinds of supplier behind one search

The full service brand side agency. It works for you. It builds the shortlist from the whole market, negotiates the rates, runs the briefs, handles the usage rights and reports at the end. Obviously is a clear example of the type and publishes its scale on its own home page at obvious.ly, read on 21 October 2026: "152,562 influencer collaborations and counting", "5,175,687,487 organic impressions served and counting" and "425,634 unique pieces of content created and counting", with brand category teams listed for automotive, beauty, B2B, entertainment and gaming, food and beverage, healthcare, lifestyle, retail and technology.

The talent or creator management agency. It works for the creator, not for you. It is the right call if you want one specific person, and the wrong call if you want the best person for the brief, because its roster is its inventory.

The platform with a services arm. Software first, people on top. Later publishes both halves on one page at later.com/influencer-marketing, read 21 October 2026: "Full-service programs, expert-led influencer campaigns" next to "Influencer marketing platform, run your own campaigns". This is the fastest growing shape in the category, and the reason is that the data belongs to the platform either way.

The boutique specialist. One vertical, one platform or one region. Smaller shortlists, better taste, and a bench thin enough that one person leaving changes the output.

The ranking criterion, applied to every firm including ourselves

The criterion is this: how much of the offer does the firm publish on its own website where a buyer can read it before the first call? Not awards, not logo walls, not a case study percentage with no denominator. The commercial model, the deliverable list, and the limit that sets each tier.

On that one checkable thing, the order on 21 October 2026 ran as follows. The self serve platforms sit at the top, because GRIN publishes a complete ladder at grin.co/pricing with a monthly fee plus a management fee on wallet deposits that falls as the tier rises, entry at zero dollars a month, and limits set by gifts a month and creator searches a month, together with the sentence "Reaching a limit prompts an upgrade, never an overage charge" and the statement that GRIN takes nothing from what creators earn. Modash publishes the same kind of thing at modash.io/pricing, where the entry plan is described as being for campaigns with up to 100 creators and the tier is set by how many creators you can discover a month. Then the full service agencies, because Obviously publishes verifiable counters and a named service list but no price. Then the enterprise platforms, because creatoriq.com/pricing, traackr.com/pricing and hypeauditor.com/pricing each returned a live page on 21 October 2026 that renders a request form and no price, and influencity.com/pricing rendered no dollar figure anywhere in its text. upfluence.com/pricing returned HTTP 403 to our request on that date, so nothing about it is claimed here. A blocked fetch is a blocked fetch and says nothing about the company.

Check the domain before you check the agency

One practical warning from the same morning. Obviously the influencer agency is at obvious.ly. The address obviously.com returned HTTP 200 on 21 October 2026 and served a different organisation entirely: a near empty site headed "Obviously Enterprises" with 368 characters of text and links to unrelated articles. A page loading successfully is not a page about the company you were looking for, and that applies to every shortlist you build from a search result.

What to put in the brief, whichever of the four you hire

Four lines settle most of the disputes that follow. Who owns the creator relationship and the contact details at the end of the contract. Whether paid usage rights are included and for how long, because boosting a creator post is a separate licence from the organic post. How the fee is built, since a management fee on creator spend rewards a bigger buy and a flat retainer does not. And who handles disclosure compliance, which in the United States means the material connection has to be clear and conspicuous in the post itself rather than buried in a profile bio.

The question none of the four is being paid to answer

Every supplier above is selling the same thing: a human being reading a creator post. That is a real channel and it still works. It is also not the only moment a buyer now hears a recommendation. A growing share of purchase research happens inside an answer, where a model writes one paragraph naming two or three businesses and the reader never clicks a source.

The category already knows it. Later ships a product called Creator AEO at later.com/creator-aeo, read 21 October 2026, whose own copy says "Creator AEO that gets your brand cited" and "Less than 10% of what AI says about your brand comes from content you own". So the people selling you creator campaigns are also selling the answer engine problem, which tells you it is a separate purchase rather than a feature of the campaign.

AI Knows Us is not an influencer agency and we do not book creators. We are the measurement side of that second question, and read this as a different purchase rather than a fifth option on the list above. We check ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews with buyer questions that never name your business, report which businesses the answer named instead of you, and run the content and placement work that changes who gets named. One credit is one buyer question put to one app once. A Claude check costs three credits because it runs through the Anthropic API with live web search; most checks cost one.

Our own ladder is published as plain text at aiknowsus.com/llms.txt, so a crawler reads it without running any JavaScript, and aiknowsus.com/pricing renders the same figures in six currencies. Read on 21 October 2026 the published United States floor is $149 a month for SEO Start, which watches 0 buyer questions, carries 0 credits and reads 0 engines, because it is a demand harvest tier. Growth at $299 a month is the cheapest plan that reads all five surfaces, with 100 buyer questions watched and 1,200 scheduled answers a month. Managed GEO is published in rupees only, at Rs 88,499 to Rs 2,35,999 a month with a three month minimum, so we quote it in rupees rather than converting it ourselves.

Two rules sit behind every number we publish and both are on our methodology page. The buyer question never names the business being measured, because a question containing the brand name produces an answer containing the brand name. And every rate carries a 95 percent Wilson interval, so a move from 11 to 14 percent on 40 readings is reported as noise.

Where rivals are ahead of us, said plainly

On the same published offer criterion this page uses, we put ourselves first among the vendors that measure AI answers, on one narrow and checkable thing: ours was the only price and per tier limit set readable in a server rendered plain text file in six currencies on 21 October 2026. On other things we are behind, and here they are. Ahrefs Brand Radar, read at ahrefs.com/brand-radar that day, covers seven surfaces against our five, adding Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot, publishes "Claude consumes 8 checks per update" and an overage rate of $0.020 a check, and runs against an index it describes as 493 million prompts. Profound publishes "Up to 9 Answer Engines tracked" and "SSO/SAML + SOC 2 compliance" on its enterprise tier at tryprofound.com/pricing. We publish neither single sign on nor a SOC 2 report, and our rendered pricing text carries no white label and no data processing agreement. Later has a creator network it describes as 20M+ profiles, which we do not have at all.

If you want the four kinds of agency sorted for one market rather than for the United States, we keep a separate page on Australian influencer agencies, how they charge and the disclosure rules to put in the contract. No other page on this site links to that one, measured on 21 October 2026 across the 2,227 stored bodies that cover our 2,141 live pages, of which 939, or 43.9 percent, carry no inbound link at all. That share is an upper bound, because a link from a page whose body we cannot read is invisible to the count.

What brands ask before hiring an influencer agency

Is an agency better than a platform? An agency buys you taste and negotiation. A platform buys you a repeatable process and your own data. A brand running two campaigns a year is better served by an agency, and a brand running creators every month is better served by owning the platform.

What should the fee be based on? Ask for both quotes, a flat monthly fee and a percentage of creator spend, then compare them at the budget you actually expect. The two models diverge fastest at the top of the range.

How long before the work can be judged? One wave of posts tells you whether the creator selection and the brief were right. Three waves tell you whether the agency is learning from its own reporting, which is the thing you are really buying.
