Depra AI vs Ahrefs Brand Radar, the two vendors that tell you what one check costs and what Claude costs extra

Ahrefs publishes that Claude consumes 8 checks per update and charges 2 cents a check over its allowance. Depra publishes successful checks per month on every plan. Between them you can price a single question on a single engine.

AI Knows Us · Updated 2 November 2026

Most of this category sells a prompt count and leaves you to work out how many answers that is. These two do not, which makes them the pair you can actually model. Read on 31 October 2026, ahrefs.com/brand-radar states that each prompt is checked daily on every selected platform, gives the worked example 5 prompts on 1 platform equals 150 checks a month, states that Claude consumes 8 checks per update, and prices its AI Visibility Index at $199 a month with 83 prompts a day, 2,500 checks a month included and overage at $0.020 a check billed monthly. On the same day depra.ai/pricing publishes a monthly allowance of successful checks on every plan, 2,000 on Starter at Rs 1,999, 8,700 on Growth at Rs 7,499, 15,000 on Scale at Rs 12,499 and 37,500 on Enterprise at Rs 25,000, all plus 18 per cent GST, with a check defined on the page as one question asked to one AI engine.

The cost of one check, in each vendor's own currency

The division below is ours, on their published figures. No figure is converted between rupees and dollars here, because a converted price depends on a rate nobody can check afterwards. Depra's own FAQ does publish a dated conversion, naming the RBI reference rate on 15 September 2026 of Rs 95.93 to the dollar and putting Starter at about $21 a month and Enterprise at about $261 before GST, which is a vendor statement with a source and a date rather than arithmetic of ours.

Two readings come straight out of that. Ahrefs publishes the only marginal prices in the pair, and it publishes three of them, falling from 2 cents a check to 1.5 and then to 1 cent as the package grows, which means a bill cannot surprise you and buying more capacity makes each check cheaper. Its own definition is the tightest in the category: tracking one prompt on one platform in one location uses 1 check. And Depra's per check cost falls as the plan grows, from about one rupee to about two thirds of a rupee, which is the normal shape of a volume ladder stated plainly enough to check.

The Claude premium, published at both and priced at one

Ahrefs puts a number on it: Claude consumes 8 checks per update. So a prompt set of 50 questions tracked daily on Claude alone is 400 checks a day, which exhausts the 2,500 monthly allowance of the $199 Index plan in under a week. The sensible use, which the figure makes obvious, is a small Claude subset rather than your whole set.

Depra does not price Claude at all on its self serve ladder. Its four engines are ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, checked daily on every plan, and its Enterprise panel lists every other model, naming Microsoft Copilot, Claude and Google AI Mode, as an add on arranged by contacting them. So a buyer who needs Claude measured is on the Rs 25,000 tier plus an unpublished add on at Depra, or on Ahrefs with eight checks a reading.

What each one meters besides checks

Ahrefs meters people. Every paid plan publishes 1 user included, then add 2 more at $40 a month each on Lite, 5 more at $60 each on Standard and 10 more at $80 each on Advanced. For AI visibility reporting, which tends to get read by brand, PR and product as well as search, that is a real second bill. Depra publishes no per seat charge on any plan.

Depra meters markets and projects, generously at the bottom. Any of 40 markets on every plan, questions in most major languages including Hinglish and code mixed questions on every plan, 1 project on Starter rising to 300 slots pooled across 10 projects on Enterprise. Ahrefs publishes projects as 5 non verified with unlimited verified on Lite, rising to 50 non verified on Advanced, which is an SEO project count rather than a brand container, so the two numbers are not comparable and should not be put in the same column.

What the top tier buys at each one

  • Ahrefs Enterprise, $1,499 a month with an annual commitment required. Uncapped API, custom API endpoints, SSO and enterprise grade security, access management and audit log, unlimited historical data, from 2,500 AI checks and from 83 AI prompts, and a published line that there is no training on your data. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or UnionPay, with wire transfer on request at this tier.
  • Depra Enterprise, Rs 25,000 a month. 37,500 successful checks, 300 pooled slots across 10 projects, 12 competitors per project, every other model as a contactable add on, your branding on reports, invoiced billing by NEFT, RTGS or UPI with a GST invoice, a named point of contact by email, and an option to run the product on your own server set up by their team.

Those two lists answer different procurement questions. Ahrefs answers access control and data handling. Depra answers where the software runs and how the invoice arrives. A security review will ask for both, and neither vendor answers the other one's half.

Our own unit, including the part that is more expensive

We publish a unit too, so put it in the same table. Read on 31 October 2026 our pricing page states that one credit is one buyer question asked on one AI app once, that most checks use one credit and a Claude check uses 3, that checking 10 questions on 4 AI apps uses 40 credits, that we tell you the cost before a check starts, and that a failed check returns its credit. GEO Growth publishes 1,600 credits against 1,200 scheduled answers at $299 a month, or Rs 11,799, and a top up adds 1,000 credits for Rs 3,539.

That top up works out at about Rs 3.54 a credit, which is more than three times Depra's included rate of about one rupee a check on its Starter plan. If the whole purchase is answer volume at the lowest unit price, Depra's published ladder beats our top up rate and we are not going to hide the division. Where our figures are better is the Claude multiple, three times a standard check against the eight times implied by Ahrefs publishing Claude at 8 checks, and the refund rule, since we publish that a failed check returns its credit and neither vendor here publishes a failure rule at all. Ahrefs is also plainly ahead of us on seats, because it sells additional users at a published price and we publish one login with full access and no option to buy a second.

Questions about checks, allowances and overage

What exactly is a check

Both vendors define it the same way in different words. Depra states that a check is one question asked to one AI engine. Ahrefs states that each prompt is checked daily on every selected platform and that 5 prompts on 1 platform equals 150 checks a month, which is the same unit expressed over a month.

What happens when I run out

At Ahrefs, overage is published at $0.020, $0.015 or $0.010 a check depending on which custom prompt package you hold, billed at the end of the billing month. At Depra, the page publishes a monthly allowance of successful checks and no overage rate, so ask before you need it. Our own page publishes a third answer, that the check does not start and we say how many it needed.

Is Claude worth eight checks

It depends on whether your buyers use it, and the published figure lets you decide rather than guess. Price your Claude subset separately: ten questions daily on Claude is 2,400 checks a month on Ahrefs arithmetic, which is almost the entire $199 plan allowance.

Do I need the Ahrefs SEO plan to use Brand Radar

Prompt Tracking is published as free for every paid Ahrefs Lite plan and above, so a paid plan is the route to the included checks. Beyond that the pricing page publishes three custom prompt packages, Basic at $50 a month with 2,500 checks, Growth at $100 with 7,000 and Scale at $250 with 25,000, and a Brand Radar AI product from $199 a month that adds its 519 million prompt index. The Brand Radar page also lists bonuses for existing Ahrefs customers.

Which one is cheaper for a single market business with twenty questions

Depra Starter covers it on published allowances, 16 slots and 2,000 checks, and four engines daily is 16 questions times 4 engines times about 30 days, which is close to the allowance by design. On Ahrefs, twenty questions on four platforms daily is 2,400 checks a month, which is above the 150, 300 and 600 bundled with the SEO plans and inside the 2,500 on its $50 a month Basic prompt package, which is the cheapest published route to that volume anywhere in this comparison.

Does either publish a data handling commitment

Ahrefs publishes no training on your data at its Enterprise tier. Depra publishes an option to run on your own server at Enterprise. Those are the two strongest published data answers in this pair and they sit at the top tier of each.

How we know this

We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.

That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.

Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
