Depra AI vs Semrush, a plan priced per question against a plan priced per domain and per person

Semrush sells AI visibility at 99 dollars a month per domain billed annually, with additional users starting at 45 dollars a month, and Depra sells prompt slots and checks with no published per seat or per domain charge.

The useful question here is not which tool watches more engines. It is what each vendor charges you for a second of something. Read on 31 October 2026, the AI Visibility tab of www.semrush.com/pricing publishes Base at $99 a month per domain, billed annually, with 25 custom prompts tracked daily and 1 domain for Brand Performance analysis, and the add on panel on the same page publishes Additional Users starting at $45 a month. On the same day depra.ai/pricing publishes four plans in rupees, Starter at Rs 1,999 for 16 prompt slots and 1 project, Growth at Rs 7,499 for 70 slots and 2 projects, Scale at Rs 12,499 for 120 slots pooled across 5 client projects and Enterprise at Rs 25,000 for 300 slots pooled across 10 projects, all plus 18 per cent GST, with no per seat and no per domain line anywhere on the page.

So a two brand business with four people who need the report is buying very different things from these two, and the difference is multiplicative rather than a matter of taste.

The other Semrush route, which is often the better one

Semrush publishes AI visibility twice and the second route is easy to miss. On its SEO and AI Search tab, Starter is $199 a month, or $165.17 a month billed annually, and includes 50 prompts to track daily, 1 domain for AI brand performance, 300 AI visibility reports a day, an AI ready site audit and MCP access, on top of 5 websites to monitor and 500 keywords tracked. Pro+ at $299, or $248.17 annually, doubles the prompts to 100 and raises the SEO limits. Advanced is custom and publishes unlimited prompts to track daily.

So for $199 a month you get twice the prompts of the $99 standalone plan plus the whole SEO suite, and the standalone plan exists for a buyer who wants AI visibility and nothing else. Work out which of those two you are before you compare either against Depra, because the $99 and $199 plans answer different questions and both are Semrush.

The ownership change, read on the record

Semrush is now part of Adobe. The headline Adobe Completes Semrush Acquisition sits on investors.semrush.com/news-releases, read on 31 October 2026, alongside a release headed Introducing Adobe Brand Visibility, described as bringing Semrush data together with Adobe's agentic tools in one workflow. That is a published fact about the company you would be buying from and it belongs in a procurement conversation, in both directions: a buyer who already runs Adobe Experience Cloud has a reason to prefer it, and a buyer who deliberately avoids large suite vendors has a reason not to.

Depra's equivalent published facts are smaller and more specific. Its pricing page carries its own Updated 29 Oct 2026 line, states email support during IST working hours on every plan, and publishes an option to run the product on your own server on Enterprise, set up by its team. It also publishes a rating with its own count, 5.0 out of 5 on Product Hunt from 4 reviews, which is a small sample stated as a small sample rather than a badge. And it answers the dollar question itself rather than leaving a US buyer to a converter: its FAQ names the RBI reference rate on 15 September 2026, Rs 95.93 to the dollar, and puts Starter at about $21 a month, Growth about $78, Scale about $130 and Enterprise about $261 before 18 per cent GST, with Enterprise at about $308 including GST, adding that your bank's own rate decides the charge. A dated conversion from the vendor with its source named is quotable; one this page performed would not be.

Which one to buy

  • One brand, one or two people, and you already run SEO elsewhere. Depra Starter at Rs 1,999 is the cheapest published route in this pair to four engines checked daily, and its CSV download and MCP server are on that first tier.
  • You need SEO and AI search on one invoice. Semrush, and compare the $199 Starter against the $99 AI Visibility Base rather than against Depra, because the second decision is really Semrush against Semrush.
  • Several people need to read the report. Depra, on the absence of a per seat charge. Semrush publishes Additional Users from $45 a month, and four readers is $135 a month on top of the plan.
  • Several brands or client domains. Depra Scale, which pools 120 slots across 5 client projects and lets you move prompts between clients, against a per domain charge on the Semrush AI Visibility plan.
  • Your buyers ask in Hinglish or mixed language, or you need a GST invoice against your GSTIN. Depra publishes both and Semrush publishes neither.

What we charge for a second of something

We sell in this category, so the same question applies to us. Read on 31 October 2026 our pricing page publishes per plan rather than per domain or per person. GEO Growth is $299 a month, or Rs 11,799, for 100 buyer questions, 1,200 scheduled answers and all five engines including Claude. GEO Scale is $599 for 300 questions and 3,500 answers. The page answers the seat question directly and the answer is a limit rather than a feature: Logins included, 1, full access, with the stated reasoning that our cost is asking AI and writing rather than headcount, and the tracking log exports any time for everybody else.

Semrush is ahead of us there in one plain respect. It will sell you a second named login for $45 a month and we will not sell you one at all, and a company that requires individual accounts per person should read our answer as a no. Semrush also publishes a wider engine set on its AI plan than its price suggests and an entire SEO suite we do not have. Where our page is ahead on published lines is the fifth engine, since we publish Claude as included rather than absent, the per surface weight of a Claude check at 3 credits against 1, and 20 or 40 pages a month written and published, which is work rather than reporting.

If the currency line in your own invoice is the thing holding this decision up, our page on what AI visibility tools cost a Canadian buyer works through which vendors publish a price in a buyer's own currency and which leave it to a converter.

Questions about buying AI visibility from Depra AI or Semrush

Is the Semrush AI Visibility plan monthly

The Base plan is published at $99 a month per domain, billed annually, so the commitment is a year even though the figure is monthly. The SEO and AI Search ladder publishes both monthly and annual columns, with annual stated as saving up to 17 per cent.

How many prompts do I get for the money at each vendor

Semrush publishes 25 custom prompts on AI Visibility Base, 50 on Starter, 100 on Pro+ and unlimited on Advanced, all tracked daily. Depra publishes 16 prompt slots on Starter, 70 on Growth, 120 pooled on Scale and 300 pooled on Enterprise, with its own definition that a slot is one buyer question in one language and one market.

Does either one charge per extra brand

Semrush's AI Visibility plan is published per domain, so yes on that plan. Depra charges by project count inside the tier, 1, 2, 5 pooled and 10 pooled, with no separate per brand fee published.

Which engines does each one check

Semrush's AI Visibility plan names mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Depra names ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, checked daily on every plan, with Microsoft Copilot, Claude and Google AI Mode as Enterprise add ons.

Does the Adobe acquisition change what I am buying today

The plans and prices on the page are the plans and prices, read on 31 October 2026. What the acquisition changes is who you are contracting with and where the roadmap is set, and the investor newsroom also publishes a customer FAQ about the acquisition, which is the right document to read before signing an annual commitment.

Which is the better fit for an agency

Depra Scale on published figures, because pooled client slots, movable prompts, per client reports and your own branding are all on one priced tier. The Semrush route for an agency is the suite plus the Pro Report add on at $20 a month for branding and white labelling, plus additional users, and that is three line items rather than one.

How we know this

We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.

That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.

Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
