OtterlyAI vs Depra AI, and the engine that one of them includes for 15 dollars worth of questions while the other charges extra
Both publish a full self serve ladder and both hold engines back, in opposite directions. Gemini is included on Depra's cheapest plan and is a paid add on at every OtterlyAI tier you can buy off the page.
AI Knows Us · Updated 2 November 2026
These two are the closest pair in the category on question count at the entry tier and the furthest apart on which engines those questions reach. Read on 31 October 2026, otterly.ai/pricing publishes Lite at $29 a month for 15 search prompts, and states on every self serve tier that it tracks 4 AI search engines, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and MS Copilot, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as extra add ons. On the same day depra.ai/pricing publishes Starter at Rs 1,999 a month plus 18 per cent GST for 16 prompt slots, and states that ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are all checked daily on every plan, with Microsoft Copilot, Claude and Google AI Mode as Enterprise add ons.
So the first question is not which is cheaper. It is which four engines you need, because each vendor gives you four and they are not the same four.
The engine sets, side by side
| Engine | OtterlyAI, self serve tiers | Depra AI, every plan |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Included | Included, daily |
| Google AI Overviews | Included | Included, daily |
| Perplexity | Included | Included, daily |
| Microsoft Copilot | Included | Enterprise add on |
| Gemini | Priced add on, $9 a month on Lite, $59 on Standard, $149 on Premium | Included, daily |
| Google AI Mode | Priced add on, same ladder, $9, $59, $149 | Enterprise add on |
| Anthropic Claude | Priced add on, $29 a month on Lite, $109 on Standard, $439 on Premium | Enterprise add on |
Credit to OtterlyAI for printing those add on figures rather than making you ask, which is more than Depra does for its Enterprise models. The practical reading is that Gemini on OtterlyAI Lite is $29 plus $9, so $38 a month, and the same surface on Depra Starter is inside Rs 1,999 with no separate line. If your buyers are on Android or in Google Workspace, Gemini is not an optional surface, and now you can price it on both sides rather than guess. If your buyers are in a Microsoft shop, Copilot is the surface that matters and the answer reverses.
The ladders, which are both complete and both legible
Credit where it is due to both pages: neither of them hides a tier behind a demand for your phone number. OtterlyAI publishes Lite at $29 for 15 search prompts, Standard at $189 for 100, Premium at $489 for 400 and Enterprise as custom starting from 1,000 search prompts, with an annual column at $25, $160 and $422 and 15 per cent off stated as the reason. It also publishes the price of more capacity rather than making you ask, at 100 extra search prompts for $99.
Depra publishes Starter at Rs 1,999 for 16 slots and 2,000 successful checks a month, Growth at Rs 7,499 for 70 slots and 8,700 checks, Scale at Rs 12,499 for 120 slots pooled across 5 client projects and 15,000 checks, and Enterprise at Rs 25,000 for 300 slots pooled across 10 projects and 37,500 checks, with the GST inclusive figure printed beside each one. It also defines both units in plain words on the page: a prompt slot is one buyer question in one language and one market, and a check is one question asked to one AI engine.
Two different definitions of generous
OtterlyAI is generous about people and audits. Every tier, including the $29 one, publishes unlimited team members, unlimited brands and competitors, unlimited countries and languages, and daily tracking frequency. Lite publishes 1,000 GEO URL audits a month, Standard 5,000 and Premium 10,000. Standard adds unlimited workspaces, a Data Studio connector, 2,000 API requests and 2,000 MCP requests a month, and 200,000 Agent Analytics events, with Premium at 5,000, 5,000 and one million.
Depra is generous about markets and the way a report leaves the product. Any of 40 markets on every plan, including India, the US, the UK, Europe, the Gulf and Australia. Questions in most major languages including Hinglish, with English and Hinglish results side by side in the report from Growth, and code mixed questions on every plan, which nobody else in this set publishes. CSV download and the websites AI cites from Starter. An MCP server from Starter, described as usable inside Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Your logo, colours and footer on client reports from Scale.
Where the money goes if you keep growing
Follow a buyer who starts small and doubles their question set twice. On OtterlyAI, 15 prompts on Lite goes to 100 prompts on Standard, which is a jump from $29 to $189, and then to 400 on Premium at $489. The intermediate step is published too: stay on Standard and add 100 prompts for $99. On Depra, 16 slots on Starter goes to 70 on Growth, Rs 1,999 to Rs 7,499, and then to 120 pooled slots on Scale at Rs 12,499. Neither page publishes a cheaper way to add a handful of questions to Depra, so the step up is the only published route.
The practical reading is that OtterlyAI prices the increment and Depra prices the tier. A buyer whose question set grows by ten a quarter will find the first easier to budget. A buyer who knows they need seventy questions from day one will find the second cheaper at the rupee figures published today.
Which one to buy
- Gemini matters and your budget is tight. Depra, because Gemini is inside the Rs 1,999 plan, where the same surface on OtterlyAI Lite is a $9 a month line on top of $29.
- Copilot matters. OtterlyAI, because Copilot is in its standard four and is an Enterprise add on at Depra.
- Several people need to read the dashboard. OtterlyAI, on its published unlimited team members at every tier including Lite.
- You bill in dollars and your finance team will not approve a rupee invoice with an Indian tax line. OtterlyAI. This is an administrative fact rather than a product one, and it decides more shortlists than it should.
- You need code mixed or Hinglish questions measured. Depra, which is the only vendor in this pair that publishes it at all, on every plan.
What we publish against that engine table
We sell in this category and the engine question is the one where our own page is worth putting in the same table. Read on 31 October 2026, our GEO plans publish all five surfaces, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, with Claude included rather than quoted, at $299 a month for GEO Growth with 100 buyer questions and 1,200 scheduled answers. On the specific question this page is about, which engines you can reach without a sales conversation, that is a wider published set than either vendor above.
Three things run against us and all three are on our own page. Our cheapest plan that watches AI apps at all is $299, or Rs 11,799, where OtterlyAI starts at $29 and Depra at Rs 1,999, so at the small end both of them beat us by a wide margin. We publish Logins included, 1, full access, where OtterlyAI publishes unlimited team members on every tier. And our cadence is weekly on priority questions with 30 and 90 day cycles on the rest, where both vendors here publish daily. If daily checks for one person at the lowest possible price is the brief, neither we nor anybody else should pretend that is us.
For the published record behind the Indian half of this pair, including the only vendor rating in this category printed with its own count, see Depra AI reviews compared.
Questions about OtterlyAI and Depra AI add ons and units
Is Gemini really an add on at OtterlyAI
On its pricing page as read on 31 October 2026, yes. Every self serve tier, Lite, Standard and Premium, carries the same line naming Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as extra add ons alongside its four tracked engines. It also prices them, further down the same page, in US dollars excluding tax: Google AI Mode and Gemini at $9, $59 and $149 a month by tier, and Claude at $29, $109 and $439, with annual figures beside each.
How many questions does each entry plan really cover
OtterlyAI Lite publishes 15 search prompts. Depra Starter publishes 16 prompt slots and 2,000 successful checks a month. Depra's own definitions make the second figure the binding one: 16 questions on four engines checked daily is roughly 1,920 checks in a 30 day month, which is why the allowance is set where it is.
Which one is better for an agency with several clients
Compare two published lines. OtterlyAI gives 1 workspace on Lite and unlimited workspaces from Standard at $189. Depra gives 120 prompt slots pooled across 5 client projects on Scale at Rs 12,499, with prompts movable between clients and your own logo and colours on the reports. Unlimited containers against pooled capacity with white labelling is a real choice, and the number of clients you have decides it.
Do either of them publish an annual discount
OtterlyAI does, at 15 per cent off, with the discounted monthly figures printed, $25, $160 and $422. Depra publishes monthly rupee billing with no annual column on the page.
What does OtterlyAI mean by a GEO URL audit
It is a separate allowance from prompts, published per tier at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 a month, covering its crawlability and content checks on your own pages. It is worth separating from the prompt count when you compare, because it is the only number on that page that is about your site rather than about the engines.
Does either vendor publish single sign on
OtterlyAI names Single Sign On and enterprise grade compliance on its Enterprise tier only. Depra does not publish SSO anywhere, and publishes a different assurance instead, an option to run the product on your own server on Enterprise, set up by its team.
How we know this
We read the assistants rather than guessing what they do. In our own audit of 1,260 saved answers from ChatGPT and Gemini across the United States, the United Kingdom and India, 82.0% of every citation landed on a site the business itself owned, and review directories took 0.7%. Counted as one domain per reading, 16,516 of 20,143.
That is the whole asymmetry: the pages you own are the pages an assistant quotes back to a buyer. See the dated readings and the method on our proof page.
Find out whether assistants name your business, on your own domain and your own buying questions.
