Your first marketing supplier in Singapore when there is nobody in house to manage it, and what changes at about ten million a year

Eleven Singapore suppliers read on 28 October 2026, sorted by the lowest figure each one publishes, and why that figure tells you which size of buyer it was written for.

With nobody in house, buy a deliverable rather than a programme. A programme needs somebody on your side to answer questions, approve copy, notice a bad month and decide what happens next, and a founder who is also selling will not do that reliably for long. A deliverable has an end: a site that converts, a set of service pages, a Business Profile built properly, a tracking setup you own. Buy one of those first, from a supplier whose published price is attached to a thing, and buy the monthly programme once there is a person whose job it is to receive it. That person usually arrives somewhere around ten million a year of revenue, and that is the point at which the retainer stops being a risk and starts being the obvious purchase.

The lowest published figure, supplier by supplier, read on 28 October 2026

Hardly any Singapore agency publishes a full price list. Several publish a starting figure, and the starting figure is a statement about who they want to hear from. Every figure below names the page it came from and the day it was read, none is a quote, and a quote you were given this week beats anything printed here.

Supplier pageLowest figure publishedWhat the figure is attached to
6smarketers.com"managed programmes begin around $500/month for smaller businesses", rising "into five figures" for competitive multi channel workA monthly programme. The site lists its head office as Ranchi, India, serving clients in the US, UK, Australia and APAC
mediaonemarketing.com.sgSEO "From $850/month", Paid Ads "From $180/month", Social Media Marketing "From $180/month", Branding "From $580/month". Its EDGE grant section lists "SEO Subscription From $350/mo" and "Full Strategy Package From $850/mo"Monthly subscriptions, several of them. Website Design is "Contact for pricing" and is the only line attached to a finished thing
upscaled.com.sgSEO from S$1,000 a month, AI SEO from S$1,688 a month, social from S$1,200 a month, Google Ads management from S$2,500 a month plus ad spend, web design from S$2,500Both shapes, and it is the only site in this set that labels its figures in Singapore dollars rather than a bare dollar sign
oom.com.sgNo price. Its enquiry form offers monthly marketing budget bands of "$1,500 - $3,000", "$3,001 - $6,000", "$6,001 - $10,000" and "$10,001 & Up"A monthly budget. The lowest band is the smallest buyer it has built a box for
bestseo.sg"Our packages start at $2,800 per month for local Singapore businesses with a single location and modest keyword targets", scaling to "$5,000 or more per month" for competitive national campaigns, with "an initial 6-month commitment"A monthly programme with a term. At that entry figure the real commitment is six times the monthly number
marketingagency.sg"SEO retainers in Singapore typically range from SGD $2,000-$8,000/month", "Google Ads management from $1,500-$5,000/month plus ad spend", "full-service marketing engagements from $5,000/month and up"Retainers, described as market ranges rather than as its own rate card
brewinteractive.comNo figure. It says it offers "much more conservative pricing compared to larger agencies" and does not work with "any minimum budget"Nothing, deliberately. The absence of a minimum is the signal for a small buyer
pulsenpixels.comNo figure. A "Free Performance Audit included with every signup" and a free self assessmentNothing, with a free first step in place of a published price
digimau.comNo figure. "Get Up To 70% OFF Consultancy Services", stated as depending on Singapore government subsidy eligibilityA subsidised consultancy engagement, aimed at startups and small businesses
digitalsquad.com.sgNo figure anywhereNothing. Its named specialisms are SaaS, tech, financial services and fintech, real estate, B2B and luxury
constructdigital.comNo figure anywhereNothing. It describes itself as "a Singapore-headquartered B2B marketing agency built for enterprise teams across Southeast Asia"

Read down the right hand column rather than the middle one. Nine of the eleven lowest published figures are attached to a monthly programme. Two are attached to a finished object. If you have nobody in house, the two are the shortlist and the nine are next year.

What having no marketing team actually breaks

It is not the money and it is not the strategy. Four things break, and all four are about somebody being available.

  • Nobody answers the supplier's questions. A search or content programme generates a question a week that only you can answer: which service earns the most, what a good lead sounds like, which enquiries were rubbish. Unanswered, the supplier guesses, and guessing is where the first three months go.
  • Nobody approves copy. Work sits in a review queue waiting for a founder who is in a client meeting. A deliverable with a defined end survives this. A monthly programme does not, because next month arrives anyway.
  • Nobody notices a flat month. With a team, a bad month gets raised. Without one, four of them pass before anybody looks.
  • Nobody holds the accounts. If the supplier sets up the advertising account, the analytics property and the Search Console property in its own name, you have bought work you cannot take with you.

So the first purchase is the one that still works when nobody is watching it, and the spending order that follows from that is set out in our page on how much a new Singapore company should put behind marketing in year one, which argues that the order matters more than the total. That is the same argument as this page, read from the budget end rather than the supplier end.

The supplier shapes that work with nobody in house

Three shapes survive an unmanaged first purchase, and the published record above tells you which suppliers sell them.

  • A build. Web design or a set of service pages, priced as a project. upscaled.com.sg publishes web design from S$2,500 and mediaonemarketing.com.sg prices website design on enquiry, both read 28 October 2026. The deliverable exists whether or not you managed it well.
  • A one off audit or a strategy document. A paid piece of thinking you own, which also doubles as the brief for whoever you hire next. digimau.com sells consultancy with a subsidy route attached and pulsenpixels.com puts a free performance audit in front of any signup.
  • A single channel with a hard ceiling. One paid channel at a figure you can switch off in a month. mediaonemarketing.com.sg publishes Paid Ads from $180 a month and itechstudio.sg states in its own words that "There is no specific management fee for setting up, implementing or result reports from the ads", both read 28 October 2026. A single channel with no separate management fee is the cheapest way to find out whether your offer converts at all.

What does not work is a full service retainer. marketingagency.sg puts those at "from $5,000/month and up", read 28 October 2026, and a full service retainer bought by a company with nobody to run it becomes an expensive subscription to a monthly report.

What changes at about ten million a year of revenue

At that size three things are usually true that were not true before, and each one changes the purchase.

  • There is one marketing person. Not a department. One person who owns the brief, chases the supplier and reads the report. That single hire is what makes a retainer buyable, and the arithmetic of the hire against the retainer is settled with published Singapore numbers in our page on a marketing manager or an agency in Singapore for the same money.
  • You are inside the GST net, and finance behaves differently. IRAS publishes that a business "must register for GST when your taxable turnover exceeds $1 million" and that "The current GST rate is 9%", read on iras.gov.sg on 28 October 2026. Well above that threshold, the quoted figure and the invoiced figure are two different conversations, and whoever signs will ask which one the proposal means.
  • You are in the bands the market wrote for you. OOm's enquiry form bands of "$6,001 - $10,000" and "$10,001 & Up" exist because buyers at this size fill them in. At that level a supplier will build a scope rather than sell a package, which is worth more than the discount you could have negotiated at the bottom band.

What does not change is the risk of buying something sized for a company several times larger, which is a specific and common Singapore mistake. Our page on six marketing purchases a Singapore SME is sold too early gives each one with the size at which it starts to pay.

What the assistants did with this question

There is no search volume on this page and none exists for a question asked in this form. The instrument is a set of 64 blind pipelines across 32 batches put to ChatGPT and Gemini on 26 October 2026, with Singapore written into the text of every question, because the interface we query accepts country, language and location parameters, returns HTTP 200 for each and acts on none.

Both of the questions this page answers sat in the same batch and ran on ChatGPT, one reading each. In neither reading did the engine name a single agency. What it did instead is reach for 20 cited hosts, of which six were third party lists or directories, including clutch.co, thebestsg.com, themanifest.com, techdirectory.sg, bestinhood.com and singaporebest.com.sg. The practical reading for a buyer is that the answer to "which agency for a company my size" is currently being assembled out of directory pages rather than out of anything a supplier published about its own minimum. That is exactly why the published figures above are worth reading yourself: they are the only part of the market that states, in writing, which buyer each supplier is built for.

Questions about buying a first marketing supplier in Singapore

Is the cheapest published figure ever the right first purchase?

It can be, when it is attached to a single channel you can switch off. It is rarely right when it is attached to a monthly programme, because the cheapest programme is the one with the least senior attention in it, and a company with nobody in house cannot supply the attention itself.

Should a founder hire a freelancer instead of an agency first?

For a defined build, a freelancer or a small studio is often the better buy, and the trade is cover rather than capability. The three supplier shapes and what each one cannot do are set out in our page on choosing between a design studio, a small agency and a solo consultant in Singapore.

Does an overseas supplier at a lower monthly figure make sense with no team?

It makes the management problem larger, not smaller. 6smarketers.com publishes a starting figure of around $500 a month and a head office in Ranchi, India, read 28 October 2026. A programme that needs a weekly answer from you is harder to run across a time difference, and with nobody in house there is no second person to absorb the lag.

How long should the first purchase run before I judge it?

Long enough to produce the thing it promised, which for a build is weeks and for a channel test is two full months of data. Google's own documentation is blunt about timing for search work: on developers.google.com, read 28 October 2026, it says "Some changes might take effect in a few hours, others could take several months."

What should the first purchase definitely include?

Ownership. The advertising account, the analytics property and the Search Console property in your company's name, with the supplier holding access. That single line costs nothing at signing and is the difference between buying an asset and renting one.

Is a six month commitment reasonable for a first supplier?

It is common and it is a real cost. bestseo.sg publishes "an initial 6-month commitment" beside an entry figure of $2,800 a month, read 28 October 2026, which makes the decision roughly a S$17,000 one rather than a S$2,800 one. That is not a reason to refuse it. It is a reason to price the decision correctly before you sign.

Why we are not on this page

We measure whether assistants name a business when a buyer asks, and that is a second purchase, not a first one. A company with nobody in house needs somebody to do work, and a measurement does no work. Putting ourselves on a page about the first supplier a founder buys would mean recommending something that would sit unread next to a problem it does not solve, so the page names us nowhere and the eleven suppliers above are the actual answer to the question. The thing worth taking from the reading is narrower and cheaper than any of them: before you brief anybody, write down what you sell, who for, where and on what price basis, in one page per service. Every supplier on that list will ask you for it, the good ones will ask first, and the founders who have it already get a better scope for the same money.
