Connect your blog API or WordPress
Add a destination so approved pages can be posted to your own site. Choose a custom blog API, a bulk create API, or WordPress.
Steps
Open Publishing. Publishing by API starts on the Growth plan. On other plans you can still download drafts as HTML.
Under Add a destination, pick a Type: Custom blog API, Bulk create API (array body), or WordPress (REST API).
Give it a Name and enter the Create URL (POST) your blog accepts.
Optionally enter an Update URL (PUT) with {{id}} where the post id goes. Without it, links can only be fixed on new posts.
For a custom or bulk API, add an Auth header if needed, for example Authorization: Bearer your-token.
For WordPress, use https://yoursite.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts as the Create URL and https://yoursite.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/{{id}} as the Update URL. Enter your WordPress username and an application password.
Open Advanced: what we send and get back if your API needs a different body. Set where the response holds the public URL and the post id.
Press Save destination. It appears under Destinations with its URLs and whether an auth header is set.
Tips
- Create a WordPress application password in WordPress under Users, Profile, Application Passwords. Do not use your main password.
- WordPress posts are created as drafts, so you can check them before they go live.
- The bulk create preset sends an array with one post and reads the link and id from the first saved item.
- Placeholders: {{heading}}, {{subheading}}, {{html}}, {{keywords}}, {{slug}}, {{id}}, {{url}}. Text placeholders go inside quotes, and keywords is a JSON array.
